Psalm 88 plunges us into one of the darkest chapters of Scripture, a lament without resolutions that ends in abandonment, isolation, and darkness. How do we keep coming to God in prayer when we’re experiencing this dark night of the soul?

In Psalm 1 and 2, a people in exile is reminded of the terrible consequences of their fall from grace, while at the same time being beckoned to behold the way back to God opened by his anointed King who will usher in his Kingdom and bless all those who take refuge in Him.

The Psalms not only speak to us through each individual psalm, but collectively as a book tell us the story of the Lord's reign.

Through the prophet Habakkuk, God's people learn both the path to obtaining God's peace and the promises that secure it, even in the midst of life's harshest circumstances. Habakkuk 3

This week we will join Habakkuk in his watchtower, to hear what he hears and see what he sees as he waits on the Lord in a land consumed in darkness near and far. And we will discover that that light shines brightest in the darkest darkness for all who have the eyes to see, the patience to wait, and faith to rest in the vision God gives Habakkuk. Let us see, wonder, and be astounded together.

Zephaniah closes his prophecy with incredible covenant promises made by an incredible covenant keeping God. Zephaniah 3:8-20

When faced with the reality of injustice all around us and the clawing sin within our own hearts, what hope do we have of being hidden from destruction? Zephaniah 2:1-3; 3:1-8

Mark's Gospel ends with the women fleeing the empty tomb, terrified. What might this ending say about the fears of Christians and God who meets them with his grace. Mark 16:1-8

As his disciples are clamoring to make a name for themselves, Jesus shows them that true greatness looks like spending your life in service of others. Mark 9:33-37; 10:13-16, 35-45
