As we await the coming of the King who will make all things new, we need a king who is humble before the Lord and fierce in the face of idolatry to lead the way toward renewal. 2 Kings 22:1 - 23:25

While not often thought of as a king, Moses stands as the covenant partner to YHWH to deliver Israel from oppression, pointing us to Jesus the ultimate King who defeats all his enemies. Exodus 13 - 14

God promises to give Abraham land, loved ones, and a legacy. But when the gap between promise and fulfillment is met with a mix of faith and doubt, we get a glimpse of how God will provide through a future Promised King. Genesis 11:27-31, 12:1-3

In Adam we meet God's vision for a king and in Eden we see God's vision for kingdom, both of which are tragically plunged into darkness by the fall. It is only in Jesus, the true Paradise King, that we have hope again. Genesis 1:26–28

The believers fellowship with God manifests in sacrificial care for those in need. I John 3:16-18

Being adopted into the family of God, provides the believer with internal integrity and enables them to pursue a life of determined holiness. 1 John 2:28–3:10

Fellowship with God empowers us to discern the darkness around us and guard our own hearts from it as we reflect the light of Jesus to others. 1 John 2:15-17; 3:7-14; 5:3-5, 18-21

Living in fellowship with God calls believers to understand and resist the darkness that clings so readily to our hearts. I John 1:5-10; 2:1-6

Experiencing fellowship with God is a reality that believers can be assured of even in the midst of a propensity for doubt. I John 2:3-6, 28-29; 3:19-24; 5:13

A reality for believers is that fellowship with God results in fellowship with one another, a fellowship that believers are meant to nurture. 1 John 1:6–7, 2:7-11; 3:11-18; 4:7-12

I John 1:1-5, 2:3-5a, 5:20-21

The Holy Spirit is often overlooked. But His role is critical in enabling believers to know God, assuring them of God’s love, and even Himself being God that we can know. 1 John 2:20, 26–27; 1 John 3:24; 4:1–6, 13; 5:6-8

Fellowship with the God who is light is threatened by sin. But in Jesus, God has made a way for believers to be cleansed and know fellowship with the Father again. 1 John 1:5–10; 2:1-2; 4:9–10, 14, 15; 5:9–13

Believers are invited into fellowship with the living God. But who is this God who invites us into fellowship? 1 John 1:1-7

Believers are invited to find themselves anchored in an overflowing fellowship of love with God. 1 John 1:1-4; 3:1-3

Psalm 150 is a fitting doxology to close the Psalter. Hear how this Psalm not merely prompts us towards worship but roots us in the hope of the Gospel.

God's people are called to praise the majesty of their personal God. Psalm 145

Psalm 110, the most often quoted Psalm in the NT, invites God's people to embrace Jesus as a King-Priest like no other.

God has prepared a great song of praise throughout eternity, the song of the Lamb. People everywhere and throughout time are invited to learn it lyrics, master its music, and sense its soul. Psalm 98

As Israel descends the depths of realization regarding their sin that caused their captivity, they look back into their story and appreciate the beauty of YHWH afresh. Psalm 90

How do we navigate the dissonance we sometimes experience between God’s covenant promises to his people and the feeling that he has forgotten us? And could that dissonance lead the church to sing of God’s faithful love in an even richer way? Psalm 89
