As 2 Samuel comes to a close our last look at David shows that pride goes before a fall, but that repentance and humility are the pathway to enjoying God's presence.

Perhaps there are no greater tales of valor and loyalty than the accounts of David's mighty men. Yet even regaled by these exploits the heart is left longing for the true Warrior King who will lay down his life for his people. II Samuel...

David's last words help us look back in gratitude on God's covenantal faithfulness and look forward in hope to an even greater coming King. 2 Samuel 23:1-7
