The coming of the Man of Promise was under constant attack by the Enemy, directly and indirectly. But, every step of the way, God protected his plan and sent word of his confirmation. God’s people knew who to receive and who to reject, who was sent by God, and who was sent by the Enemy.

Earthly treasures cannot be permanently owned. What you treasure today will belong to someone else’s tomorrow. The only treasure that you can permanently own is what you put into heaven’s bank, the kingdom of God. Are you trusting in your riches? Are you saved? Christ is the head of the body, the church. Each believer in the church body is connected to another believer, and together we work to glorify our Heavenly Father. A believer cannot be disconnected with the body and still expect to be connected to the head, Christ. This is an important mark of every true disciple.

Human beings may willfully forget the historicity of the Great Flood, but the traces of God’s judgment and grace have been permanently etched over the landscape of the earth. We often say, “seeing is believing”, but here you must believe it to see it. As Jesus said, “If we refuse to praise him, even the rocks will cry out!”

The global flood left a lasting impression on the memory of the ancient peoples. Even though their recollections are distorted, they testify to the truth of the biblical account of God’s judgment on a sinful world in a not-so-distant past. Our caricatures of God create a god who makes us feel better. To the contrary, the Scriptures reveal the true portrait of God who is both holy and loving. His holiness brings his wrath on sin, and his love brings his grace to us. Ultimately, the true measure of God’s judgment and redemption is Jesus Christ.
