My name is Daniel Faucett. I am a father and a husband. I believe in Reformed Christian apologetics, and I attempt to make a clear case for the truth of Christ found in the Gospel. I hope to declare the reality of His saving grace with humility, patience, and respect. I believe the scientific enterprise and philosophy also point to God in many areas, and I attempt to highlight those areas here and through the SFR website (scifr.com).If you are an atheist, agnostic, Arminian, Orthodox, Catholic, or Non-denominational, I welcome you and hope to build your trust over time as we engage in these

A Christian Reviews Backrooms | The Allegory of the Unbeliever | SFR ep. 49 04.07.2026

In this video I sit down and review the Backrooms from a Christian perspective. This was by far one of the most interesting and gripping movies I have ever seen. I discuss three topics: (1) the quality of the film, (2) the actual meaning of the film, and (3) the meaning of the film from a Christian perspective (a sort of "Backrooms biblical analysis"). This film illustrates Scriptural ty...

Do We Grow In Respect to Salvation? Do Modern Bibles Distort 1st Peter 2:2? | SFR ep. 48 15.05.2026

In this video, I discuss the translation difference between modern Bible versions and an old Bible version. Specifically, I compare the rendering in the New American Standard Bible (NASB), ESV, CSB, etc. and the King James Version (KJV) at 1st Peter 2:2. This might appear, at first glance, as a bit of a controversial difference. Here is the English translation and the Greek text for the Nestle-Ala...

Evidence for the Resurrection: Why Smart People Still Believe It | My 100th Upload! SFR ep. 47 24.04.2026

In this episode, I break down a few basic pieces of evidence in support of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, such as the martyrdom of the apostles, women discovering the empty tomb, embarrassing details in the Gospel accounts, and secular/historical writings about Jesus and early Christian followers. There is no more important question than whether or not Jesus rose again from the dead. If He did,...

Keep Your Life FREE From the Love of Money | Hebrews 13:5-6 | SFR ep. 45 30.01.2026

In this episode, I go through Hebrews 13:5-6, which says (ESV), "5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”"There are three big takeaways from this text that I discuss:(1) We should make sure that our li...

How John Piper Shifted a Generation of Christians Towards Calvinism | SFR ep. 44 03.01.2026

In this video, I explore a survey that was sent to over a thousand pastors and asked them about their views on Calvinism, as well as asking them to list their favorite pastors. No surprise, John Piper was the number one mentioned pastor of greatest influence for all pastors in the survey. Younger Christian leaders lean heavily in the Calvinistic direction, and elderly Christian leaders (those over...

What Does It Mean To Be Born Again? | SFR ep. 43 28.11.2025

In this video, I discuss John 3:1-8 and 1st Peter 1:23-25 to uncover (1) why being born again is necessary to be with God, and (2) how we are born again through the living and abiding word of God (the Gospel).#Bible #apologetics #Christianity #calvinism #sciencefaithandreasoning --------------------------------LINKS---------------------------------Science Faith & Reasoning podcast link: https:...

Why Reformed and Catholic Churches Are Getting So Popular | SFR ep. 41 16.11.2025

In this video, I explore why Catholic and Reformed Churches are experiencing a recent surge in popularity and attendance in the post-COVID era. My Sermon vs. ChatGPT Sermon on Luke 8:40-56 | Is There Really A Difference? | SFR ep. 39 07.11.2025

In this video, I have ChatGPT write a sermon on the same passage of Scripture that I wrote a sermon on, and then I compared its sermon to my own for percent similarity, and they were scarily similar. Please comment below your thoughts on the use of AI as Christians in sermon preparation and in Bible interpretation.#ai #chatgpt #christianty #sermon #apologetics #bible #sermonprep ------------------...

Does Philippians 1:29 Teach that Faith and Suffering are Gifts from God? | SFR ep. 38 20.10.2025

In this episode, I compare two perspectives on Philippians 1:29. The more Arminian perspective is that Philippians 1:29 simply means we are granted opportunities to believe in Christ and to suffer for His sake, not that those are actually given by God. The more Calvinistic reading is rather that God actually gives belief in Christ and suffering for His sake as gifts that are received; in other wor...

Christian Reacts to TedX Talk on Bible Interpretations | SFR ep. 37 13.10.2025

In this video, I review the recent TedX talk about Bible interpretations by Dr. Dan McClellan. This is an interesting one with a few nuances. His claim is that the Bible doesn't have inherent meaning. I breakdown his presentation and provide some Biblical commentary.#apologetics #christianity #atheism #tedx #tedtalk #agnosticism #scienceandfaith -------------------------------LINKS----------------...

We also consider how to have a more Biblical and historical view of the Scriptures that can be more unifying for the body of Christ. #kjv #kjvonly #apologetics #Christianity #fundamentalism #scienceandfaith #sfr #bible --------------...

In this video, after two years of studying the NASB 2020, I have finally changed my mind about this translation of God's Word. There were three major things that happened to me that helped me change my mind about the translation: (1) giving the Bible as a gift, (2) studying the Old Testament, and (3) learning Biblical Greek. #NASB2020 #bibletranslation #biblestudy -----------------------------...

The Exchange of Love | My Recent Sermon on Matthew 27:11-26 | ep. 31 08.06.2025

In this sermon, which I recently delivered at Cowboy Church in Alexandria, I discuss the exchange of Jesus for Barabbas during the Passover feast. I begin by giving a brief contextual summary of Matthew 26 leading up to this event, which occurs in Matthew 27, where I share a verse-by-verse exegesis, and I end the message with some important applications and the symbolic nature of the passage in te...

Using a Science Experiment to Present the Gospel (pH Color Change) | ep. 30 12.04.2025

In this episode, I perform a simple pH color changing experiment to symbolize the beautiful picture of the Gospel. If you are listening over the podcast format, you will not be able to see the glass, but it starts clears, becomes pink, and then becomes clear again in the end. How we went from sinless in the garden, to sinful and deserving of eternal damnation, to how we inherit the righteousness o...

Escaping KJV Onlyism & the NIFB Church: A Sanctifying Journey | Part 1 | SFR ep. 29 03.11.2024

In this episode, I sit down with my good friend Shepard Merritt to discuss his experience with the New Independent Fundamentalist Baptist (NIFB) Church as well as with the Church's insistence on using only the King James Version of the Bible. It's not merely that the church teaches you should use the KJV, but it also teaches that other versions are demonic and attempting to deceive people with fal...

NASB 2020 vs. NASB 1995 - Discussion on Gender Accurate Language | SFR ep. 25 09.10.2023

In this episode, I look at the differences between the NASB 2020 and the NASB 1995. In the Preface to the NASB 2020, The Lockman Foundation claims to have attempted to make the NASB 2020 more "gender accurate", as well as easier to read through using language that is common and more understandable to the modern English reader. Overall, there are lots of changes and corrections that were...
