Why is Good Friday called "good?" Hebrews 12:1-2

Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem is the start of passion week.

The gospel brings us near to God when we were so out of reach. The work of Jesus reconciles us with the father and also with one another.

Paul reminds the Christians in Ephesus about our spiritual health outside Jesus. He said we were once dead in our sins and trespasses. God is the only one who can make us alive because of what Jesus did for us. God rewrites our stories! The Christian is his workmanship created for good works. 

Paul shares the bad news and the good news of the gospel message. We are saved by grace through faith. What does that mean? This passage and message expresses what that means. 

Paul gives the bad news of our predicament because of sin (Eph. 2:1-3) while sharing the great news of what God has done (Eph 2:4-7). 

Paul prays to God in gratitude for the Saints in Ephesus. We continue looking at his prayer where he asks the Lord to give them wisdom and understanding with how great Jesus is. 

Ephesians 1:15-16, the Apostle Paul starts his prayer to God by thanking God for the believers in Ephesus. This is a good reminder for us to be thankful for the Christians in the church and in our lives. 

Acts 2:42-47 reveals to us what was at the forefront of the early church and what they were devoted to. This is a good reminder for us today in what we should be devoted to with the Lord.

Pastor Mike Barksdale teaches from Ecclesiastes 3:1-13 on what it means to be content in the Lord and being thirsty for Jesus Christ who is our living water. 

The praise of Mary was to Magnify the Lord. What does that mean for us today as we celebrate that Jesus came to save sinners?

This message focuses on the birth of John the Baptist. He was called the forerunner for Jesus and yet there is some wonderful and challenging reminders for us today to learn from this passage. 

We continue our Christmas series by looking at the birth announcement to Joseph and how the incarnation matters. 

The first coming of Jesus which we see how he is the redeemer will come again. The first advent points to the second advent. The message from Luke 2:22-38; 1 Peter 1:13.

Paul's praise to God for his spiritual blessing is wrapped up in the last part on being sealed by the Holy Spirit.

We continue looking at the spiritual blessings the Christian receives in Christ through this praise section of the book of Ephesians.  This is part 3 of 4. 

We continue looking at the book of Ephesians as Paul praises God for every spiritual blessing. This message looks at Ephesians 1:7-10. 

Paul praises God for every spiritual blessing he received because he is in Christ. This message focuses on Ephesians 1:3-6.

The new series on Ephesians begins with this introduction to the book as well as looking at the first two verses. The series is called Ephesians: From Death to Life. 

The traditional ending to the Lord's Prayer is the doxology which is, to him be the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen. This message focus on what that means and praying for the glory of God. 

The last line in the Lord's Prayer is us asking for help and protection. We are asking the Lord to help us knowing that there is temptation to sin all around us. The great thing to know is that our gracious God gives the help.

As we continue looking at the Lord's Prayer in Matthew we focus on our daily dependence on God for all things physical and spiritual. 

We are going through the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6. This week the focus was on what should our desire be when we pray, God's kingdom and His will. 

The Lord's Prayer is one of the most memorized portions of Scripture. The first petition is on going to the Father and being in awe of him. 

The Lord's Prayer is one of the most repeated and known passages of scripture. Before Jesus gives the model of prayer, he gives a warning about prayer. This message focuses on those verses before we jump into the Lord's Prayer.
