Do you ever miss what you’re looking for when it’s right in front of you? It is a problem that we’ve all experienced, and the people of the Bible are no different. For years, the religious people had been waiting for the Messiah to come. Now that He was here, they missed him. We hope you will join us on this last Advent Sunday before Christmas as we look at Luke 2:1-7.

Unfortunately, the Christmas season isn’t joyful for everyone. Even in the tragedy, there is good news! As we look at Hebrews 4:14-16, we’ll see some of that good news and be reminded of the love of God.

As we saw a couple of weeks ago, we can often build up our expectations. So what happens when they aren’t met? This is a realistic problem that we all struggle with, and it’s one that we experience often during this season. Join us this week as we look at Micah 5:2.

While the building up of hope is not isolated to Christmas, it seems to be larger during this season. We all have expectations for the season but are they the right expectations. As we continue our Advent series, we’ll look at the High Hopes that the people of Israel had.

As we embark on the Advent Season, we’ll begin by looking at Advent as a whole. There are four major themes of the season, and as we study Colossians 1:15-20, we see that they are perfectly seen in Jesus! We pray that you’ll join us this week as we begin our new series: The Tragedy of Christmas.

The armor of God is probably familiar to many of us, but in our culture this is a timely text. We must be reminded of who our enemy is. As we near the end of Ephesians, let's lean in and ask the Lord to speak to us.

We are relational people because we are created in the image and likeness of a relational God. As we continue through Ephesians, we see examples of submission in familial and working relationships.

Many times when we encounter certain words, we have preconceived connotations about them. Submission is one of those words that our culture has magnified, exaggerated, and twisted. However, the Scriptures speak very clearly that our devotion as Christ followers is to submit to Christ!

In the scripture we are given many warnings to guide us in how we are to live. This week we see a moment when Paul charges the church in Ephesus to examine how they walk, and to walk wisely for the world is evil and dark. Join us as we discuss how it looks to "walk wisely."

In a culture standing against Christ, we are often pulled toward the darkness. However the Apostle Paul continues to urge us to kill of the things that are ungodly. As we continue through Ephesians, we encounter a very explicit text about the things that are dark.

There is one body in Christ and for the body to work properly, we must be unified. Part of unity is maturity, and in Sunday's text Paul essentially says "Grow Up!" It's not just maturity, in general, but maturity in Christ!

In Ephesians 4, the Apostle Paul urges the believers to walk worth of the calling, but what is this calling? Who and what are they called to? Is there more than one? We'll jump back in our Stand Firm series this Sunday looking at Ephesians 4:1-6 to answer these questions.

The Lord is good, and He has proven that throughout the last 5 years! As we celebrate our Plantiversary at Restoration Church, we remember what the Lord has done!

Followers of Jesus are commanded to "pray without ceasing". Constant communication with the God who made us should mark us, but do we petition Him with a posture of expectation? The Apostle Paul reminds us that not only is the Lord able; He is more than able! As we gather on Sunday, let's celebrate this truth!!!

Strength is more than just physical; it's also mental. In his letter to the Ephesians, Apostle Paul is not shy about talking about the battles that we (as believers) face in this world. With this in mind, he encourages them & us to be rooted and grounded in Christ! Let's do that as we worship the Lord.

Have you ever wanted to figure something out? Maybe it was a secret that your parents were keeping. Maybe it was a new skill. Whatever it was or is, there is a sense of relief when it is no longer a mystery. The Apostle Paul writes to the Ephesians that the most important thing, the gospel, is no longer a mystery, but what does that mean for us? Join us on Sunday as we jump back into the book of E...

Patience is a struggle for many of us, but what are we willing to wait for? The writer of Psalm 130 claims that we should wait for the Lord. Waiting for the Lord doesn't mean being passive as we'll discuss this Sunday. Join us as we wrap up our Songs of Ascent.

In a fallen, broken world, it is sometimes difficult to see the good. However the omnipresence of God tells us that He is working in places even when we can’t see Him. The Lord did great things in the midst of the Israelites, He has done great things throughout history, and He is continuing to do GREAT things now! Join us on Sunday as we dig into Psalm 126 to discover this truth.

Where can we turn when our life seems to lie in ruins? Through faith in Jesus, God's people are unshakeable and secure forever. Because of Christ's finished work, the evil we suffer today will one day end. Therefore, we can run to the Lord for salvation with the hope of eternal peace.

It isn’t hard to see that we have enemies. The question is “do we know who the enemies are?” Psalm 124 is a beautiful reminder from King David that “if not for the Lord” Israel would have been defeated. The same is true in our lives; “if not for the Lord, we would …” This week’s Song of Ascent will cause us to reflect deeply and look to the Lord.

What are your eyes set on? This is a valid question as some of us focus on the immediate, some on the future, and some in between. However we are all looking toward something or someone, but the object of our sight is important! The psalmist gives us the Person that we should look to. Let’s follow the Scriptures as we gather this Sunday.
