Celebration! The Jewish people did this often as they would journey up to Jerusalem for numerous festivals of remembrance and celebration of what God had done. As we consider this from Psalm 122, a reflective question arises… “Is celebration something to marks our lives as Christians?” Are we a celebratory people? Join us this Sunday as we dig into the next Song of Ascent.

The Apostle Paul visited many places during his missionary travels, but he spent the most time in Ephesus. As we embark on a journey through this letter, we’ll see that Paul’s encouragement them continues to be – STAND FIRM. Standing firm can be difficult as the cultural landscape continues to change, but the Faithful Saints in Ephesus did so in the power of Christ!

Trusting Jesus for salvation is not the end, but the beginning of a new life. For the rest of our earthly life, the Christ follower will encounter ups and downs. However with Christ, we can be steadfast! On Sunday, we'll dive into 1 Corinthians 15:58 to see what this means.

The tomb is EMPTY! Death no longer has a hold on us because Christ has risen! Join us and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus this Easter Sunday.

Death is part of earthly life, but many process it differently. Some fear it; some avoid the topic; some dwell on it, etc. What do the Scriptures say of it? Join us for one of our Good Friday services as we look back on the death that changed everything!

What is this mystery that Paul speaks of? The mystery isn't necessarily in whether this will happen but how and when. The how and when of the fulfillment of Christ's return has been in focus for years, but for the Christian, there is much change that takes place before. It is time for the Apostle Paul to move on from Ephesus. The time and energy invested into this city and the people make it challenging for him to leave. Do you ever find yourself needing encouragement? Maybe it's a difficult moment, season, etc. and you just need to be reminded of something good! Before setting sail, Paul encouraged the disciples. We live in a culture of confusion, that’s not up for debate. However, depending on who you might talk to the reason for the confusion may differ. What does the Scripture say about it? Acts 19:21-41 documents a particular moment of confusion in the city of Ephesus. As we lean into the Scriptures this weekend, we pray that you would join us!

You can imagine that we people find out about crazy things happening that they would want to try them. In Acts 19:11-20, this is just what happens. The sons of Sceva try to cast out an evil spirit, but the response is an interesting question: "Who are you?" We'll tackle this question as we dig into the Scriptures on Sunday.

In this section of Acts, we meet a man named Apollos. He is described as an eloquent and competent man. However he receives some criticism. This is something that we've all encountered, yet we struggle with sharing criticism and receiving it. As we study the Scriptures this week, let's ask the Lord to prepare our hearts to hear them well!

Paul revisited many churches from his first missionary journey and he never stopped evangelizing on his second journey. Paul was driven with a passion as to what he was called to do — to the Jews and gentiles — EVANGELIZE! Join us this Sunday as our Elder, Bob Hall, brings us this week’s sermon from Acts 18:6-23.

As we jump back into the book of Acts, we encounter the Apostle Paul traveling to many different cities. Yet, in each place the Scriptures record him "reasoning" with the people in the synagogues. Reasoning rhetoric is something that is evidenced in the Bible, but not often evident in our culture. Join us this Sunday as we begin Movement Pt. 4

During our recent Advent series, we discovered the humility of Jesus in each season of His earthly life. Now, we seek to apply those principles to our lives as we follow Him. In the first message of The Joy of Humility, we’ll look at James 4:6-10 as we talk about our Humble Submission to the Lord.

Even upon this resurrection, Jesus showed himself with a humble appearance. Angelic beings guarded His tomb, but He appeared to Mary in the form of man. Even following his crucifixion, Jesus didn’t immediately ascend to his rightful place, His throne, next to His Father. He spent time in human form and comforted Mary and prepared her to spread the news of his resurrection. 

Jesus wasn’t just born; He was born with a purpose. The purpose…was to die. He displayed humility in every season of His life, and the end was no different! We have much to learn about sacrifice in our lives. As we dive into this subject, let’s look at the humble sacrifice of Christ.

At this season of life, Jesus has made it known that He would be betrayed. Yet, He continues to serve. Not only does He serve those who are with Him, but He serves those who are against Him. What an example! John 13:1-14 gives us a beautiful picture of Jesus modeling humble servanthood.

Have you ever considered what Jesus’s life looked like as a young boy? How did the Son of God relate to His earthly parents? Luke gives us a glimpse into the adolescent years of young Jesus in Luke 2:41-52 as He is in the temple. As we continue to look at The Humble King, consider joining us as we talk about Humble Submission.

Why Bethlehem? Why now? A common text and recounting of the birth of Christ for this time of year. However, as we look deeper, we’ll see evidence of great humility that moves to deeper understanding. During this busy season, we pray that you’ll pause and join us for worship on Sunday!

The lineage of Christ is often talked about for certain reasons. Some of the people that are part of the family tree are unique individuals who you surprise you that they made the list. It’s these individuals (Abraham,Rahab, Ruth, David) that are often spoken of but there are more. As we begin the Advent season, join us as we look at the lineage of The Humble King.

Do you ever find yourself complaining about your circumstances? We all do. However, Philippians records Paul's experience of learning to be content. As followers of Jesus, we must learn the same thing. Philippians 4:10-23 speaks to this very difficult subject. Join us as we wrap up our series in Philippians talking about contentment.

Our circumstances can change quickly, which can lead to the difficult task of REJOICING. Yet, the Scriptures tell us to rejoice…always. But how? On Sunday, we'll tackle Philippians 4:4-9 to answer that very question.

Relationships can be difficult. When sinful people try to work together, there will inevitably be conflict. The question is: "what do you do with the conflict?" In the fourth chapter of Philippians, we see Paul encouraging reconciliation amongst colaborers. Join us this week as we seek to understand and apply this to our lives.

As Christians, we should imitate people and actions that look like Christ. As we do this, we draw into greater understanding of who Christ is and how He loves us. We understand our place in this world AND God's Kingdom. 

Where are we going? How are we going to get there? Whether existentially or practically speaking these questions live rent free in our minds each and every day. Paul’s encouragement and warning to the Philippians will lead us to not only answers to these questions, but to the truth telling question: What is the ride like along the way?
