From Matthew 2:1-23. Matthew is writing to convince His hearers that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, the true son of David, the true son of Abraham, through whom all the blessings of God flow to the people of God forever. Matthew says that Jesus is the King, and while responses to Him will vary, nothing will stop the work of God through Him.

From Matthew 1:18-25. The book of Matthew was written to tell the story of Jesus and to reveal who Jesus was and what He had done for His people. Today’s passage brings us to the beginning, to the arrival of our King. Matthew claims that Jesus is the Messiah, God’s chosen messenger to bring God’s kingdom. How does knowing the truth of this story re-orient how we relate to the Lord?

From Matthew 1:1-17. Will we define Jesus through the lens of the things we care about and our culture or will we allow Jesus to define Himself as He is revealed in the scripture and let that Jesus speak to the issues and questions of the day? From Psalm 78. This psalm reminds us not to forget the power of telling of God’s greatness from generation to generation.

From Psalm 23. This psalm is a declaration of joy and confidence in the Lord intended to spur God’s people onward in hope and faith. We see that the Lord is present with His people, He leads His people, and the Lord is for His people.

From Psalm 84. We see this psalm specifically deals with the themes of joy, happiness, and trust. The fruit of being in a relationship with Jesus Christ is having a mark of joy that is constantly before us.

From Psalm 12. This psalm of lament challenges the people of God to think about how we respond to diminished Godliness in the world around us. Are we committed to being a person of truth? The message of hope is that no matter how bad things look in our culture, God is preparing, preserving, and protecting His people to carry out His work.

From Psalm 81. What does this psalm teach us about worship and approaching God? We see that sometimes the Lord commands us to worship no matter how we feel. We also see that rebelling against God is turning away from God and obedience to God is an act of worship.

From Psalm 68. This psalm tells us that the Lord defends His name, His people, and His promises. This continuing work produces ongoing faith and ongoing worship.

From Psalm 24. We see that our triune God is the King of glory and we can place our hope in Him, because of who He is and what He has done.

From Psalm 77. We see that the faith that God delights in is clinging to Him in all situations.

From Psalm 66. We see that active, intentional, verbal worship of God is a gift and a blessing for the life of faith.

From Psalm 2. This Messianic psalm declares the greatness of Yahweh and declares the coming of Jesus, 1,000 years before He came. This is a great passage to help us transition out of Missions Month 2022 into a summer of studying various psalms.

From Acts 17:16-34. As Missions Month begins to draw to a close, our focus shifts to engaging the nations with the Gospel. What happens when you find yourself in a foreign land among foreign people? Paul, in his journey through Athens, helps us with this question.

From Luke 8:1-15.. This week’s focus is ministering to people where they are. In this familiar parable, Jesus reminds us that He transforms us where we are, that we might sow where we are.

From 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12. Wherever the Holy Spirit has placed you to work, in His strength and by His power, you should live and speak in a way that He is glorified and that the Gospel is proclaimed.

From 1 Corinthians 9:1-23. The heart of the Church is a God who is building a kingdom to the ends of the earth. It is the gospel of Jesus that motivates and moves Paul to long for all people to hear the gospel. We pray the Lord would stir in us to long for all types of people and the people He has put in our midst to know Christ and share in the fruits and the blessings of the gospel.

Galatians 6:11-18. As we conclude our series in the book of Galatians, we remember that Paul reminded us of a single point throughout the book - that salvation, forgiveness, and justification come through faith in Christ alone. In summary of his letter, Paul concludes that our identify is and will forever be rooted in nothing else but Christ. He calls us to stand there and walk in that way.

From Luke 24:36-53. On Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate that Jesus, the son of God, is alive! Because He is alive, everything has changed.

Galatians 6:1-10. This week’s passage we see that God cares deeply how we engage with one another as Christ followers.

Galatians 5:16-26. We see that God cares about how his people live. He cares about the morality of his people, but the path towards that morality is not through the law, but through the work of the Spirit. There is a better way forward.

Galatians 5:1-15. From Galatians 5:1-15. The book of Galatians shows us that Jesus, the son of God, came to free His people from the bondage of sin and death. This specific passage calls us, as Christians, to understand and believe that walking with Jesus is learning to live in spiritual freedom, however, sometimes freedom isn’t easy.

From Galatians 4:21-31. We see and believe that we find freedom and salvation in Jesus and His promise alone. And to seek those things in anyone or anything else is to submit ourselves to slavery and death.

From Galatians 4:8-20. We see that Paul passionately makes an appeal to the Galatians to receive the Gospel through faith in Christ alone.

From Galatians 3:15-4:7. We should cling to the saving promise of God in Jesus Christ. The law that was given to Moses serves to help make sin exposed and known, to set God’s expectations, and to show us our deep need for Christ. The purpose of the law is to shape the people of promise so they would longingly wait for the Savior that is to come.
