Paul follows up his teaching on the resurrection with some practical ways of how to tangibly love people in light of the resurrection. Paul has spent the last few chapters highlighting the importance of everyone using the spiritual gift given to them to build up the church body. Paul tells us at the beginning of chapter fourteen to "pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts." How do these things fit together? Paul continues the theme of helping the church at Corinth understand that in order to be unified, Christians must use the diverse gifts God has given them. We are moving into the next few chapters of Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, and need to have some understanding on who the Holy Spirit is and what He does. During the family meal some members of the church in Corinth are stuffing themselves with food and getting drunk on the wine. Another group was hungry and was being excluded. Paul writes on the relationship between God the Father and God the Son in order to give direction on head coverings to the church at Corinth.
