Although Abimelech is not a judge of Israel, his history is one of importance in the spiritual progress of the nation. He is a failure and we too can be tempted to follow his practices. The question to ask as we study his life, is what practices of the world am I tempted to incorporate into my life principles?

In this study we will examine Paul’s mental fitness as he endures hardship for Christ. Christians today can learn much from the pattern Paul sets out and grow in their resilience as we live out our faith.

The 2 Samuel 9 account of King David and Mephibosheth is a clear Old Testament display of the New Testament gospel of Christ. It's a unique unfolding of two different perspectives that, when they collide in a moment of understanding at what it means for these two men to meet at the king’s table, much is derived and applicable for the lives of believers today!

As believers we are on a spiritual journey and Christ wants it to be one that is marked by maturity. In order for this to happen we need to engage our past; seeing it how God sees it, set the direction of where we are going, and then get moving. If we are going to be spiritually mature, then we must press forward today!

Deborah shines brightly in the book of Judges as a godly woman who stand firm, even when others will not. She encourages others to fulfill their role in leadership and challenges people to pursue the gifting God has given them. We will conclude this sermon by looking at one of the most beautiful songs of Scripture, composed and sung by Deborah.

In the study of Luke 10:38 -42 we find the account of Jesus visiting Mary and Martha. In this account we find great application for our own life concerning our pursuit of value for the Kingdom of Christ. We often become distracted with activities, rather than sit to learn at the feet of Jesus. So, we are confronted with the question, what distracts me from deep fellowship with Jesus?

The account of the Left-Handed Assassin named Ehud is spectacular. It has many thrilling and unusual facts, but it is his absolute commitment to the holiness of God that should thrill us. Let us learn and be challenged by this man who was ready to stand alone for the holiness of God.

As we continue the series on the Journey of Spiritual Maturity we must pause and give a proper assessment of our spiritual standing. Jesus has called us to a new life of righteousness, but we have deceitful hearts. Do we accurately assess our spiritual condition or do we live in a state of self-deception? Can you recognize the deceit of your own heart?

A new series begins as we study the Milk vs. Meat passage of Hebrews. In this section of Scripture God challenges us to think about our own spiritual progress. He lays out some clear marks of the spiritually immature and pleads with us to pursue, with diligence, the work of spiritual maturity.

As we finish out studying the Upper Room Discourse we see again the gentle heart of Jesus. He uses some of His final moments with the disciples to pray for them and to pray for you and me. In this closing prayer Jesus seeks the unity of the church as His primary goal in its future health. We will be confronted with some serious questions about our own quest for unity and spiritual vitality.
