Reading from the passage John 14:1-6 Pastor Craig leans into the true meaning of Gods place for you. 

As we continue our series of "Your Place" we looked at a place we live through out our whole lives, called "The Waiting Place".  Looking through the lens of Genesis 8 with the story of Noah we looked at the importance of waiting and what it produces. 

"Place" is important to our belonging but what if we are rooted in the wrong place? We are called to an intimate space with the Father and so building value in this place is primary to our walk.

We have kicked off a new series called "Your Place". We feel in this season God is preparing hearts to get in place. Kara shared a great word on how we disqualify ourselves from our place. You are vital to your place.

On Father's day we are reminded of the need for Father in this cultural moment. Today we leaned into the desire of our Heavenly Father, to love your neighbor as yourself.

In this difficult season God is doing a deep work in us, thou uncomfortable there is a purpose in mind. Pastor Craig spoke this purpose, to the Refiner's fire. 

This past Sunday we celebrated Pentecost Sunday from our homes online. Pentecost (50th day) or feast of weeks was a day where the children of Israel would offer up their first fruits. The birthing of the church on Pentecost where the Holy Spirit was poured out, was Gods first fruit of the new covenant. What was the result of this first fruit? Drawing close to God, being a child of God means we invite our heavenly Father's discipline. We looked at Hebrews 12:5-11 as we understood what it meant for a Father's discipline in our life and what it produces.

Jon Mayak preached an awesome message on understanding our God in the storm. 

More than ever we need reminded of the character traits of the motherhood of God who embodies words of love to us. 

To have hope in the unknown is an incredibly transformative tool but we have lived in a culture of planning, certainty and have had no need for it.  God is calling us again to have hope in Him. To look at selves and see where are Hope is. To have Hope in grief and see new life come forth. 

We continued our series of Grave to Gardens with the topic thirst. Thirst can feel like a grave moment, feeling lack and need with no fulfillment. But the thirst can lead us to living water, into garden life. We must not get confused with resource thou when we need the source.

The question we have in this moment of the Coronavirus is - do we and will we have enough? And while most aren’t sure what is ‘enough,’ the fear is that we don’t have it and so our minds wandering towards how to get it. We hoard in a moment creating excess of things in our lives. The cross tells a counter cultural message... Deny and GIVE.

Often we feel the noises of the world drown out the voice of God but actually our hearts disconnected are the root causes. As we practice a rhythm of Silence and solitude we see transformation of our emotions, idols and gain direction from God. 

Opportunities are always in front of us and we can choose to see a wall or a door. In our world we love to see! We celebrate when we see a truth we will even fake it to just fit in. We create frame works that help us see but often these same frame works cause us to be blind. Jesus in John 9 teaches us what it means to see and the trust it forms. 

This past Sunday we finished up our series "Leave for the 99" hearing from  different experiences and perspectives on the power of the invitation. We looked at how it changed lives and how we can create space for the invitation.

As Christians we are called on mission to this world, to leave for the 99 lost sheep. We continued in John 4 - Woman of Samaria - Seeing Jesus prophesy into her situation which propelled her into new life and purpose. This world is longing for words of life and we have been given that gift through the Holy Spirit. What would our worlds look if we spoke words of life into it?

Our direction this year is look into our value of being Outward Focused as a church. We started a new series, "Leaving for the 99" in part 1 - talking about leaving home to lead people home. Jesus in John 4 left his home land for the one Samariatan woman who was an outcast. What does it look like to leave home to lead home, how do we do it?

We took a Sunday to talk Vision for 2020. The importance of a name we declare over ourselves and our situations can not overstated. As part of Vision 2020 we shared our potential new church name and focus for the year.

This past Sunday we closed out "Our First Love series with a message “Our Confession” Why is it so important in our lives and keep our first love alive?

This past Sunday Pastor Craig spoke on "Pure Devotion" as we continued "Our First Love Series" sharing from 1 Cor 11:1-15. Our pure devotion must be singular focused. 

Opposite of Faith is not disbelief its certainty. When all we search for is clarity in relationships with God and one another things get weird. Trust causes first love to explode in our lives, but more often we want to control our futures which suffocates our first love. What is God calling us to trust Him for? What does trust cause in my life?

Cultivating a first love means we must contend against a fear. Fear of being hurt from past experiences, fear of not being good enough, fear of punishment. We love to quote 1 John 4:18 - perfect/completed love casts out fear! But this verse is the final time John uses the phrase "Perfect Love" in which he mentions it 4 times.  John is wanting to take us on a journey of what perfect/completed...

Rev 2 the church of Ephesus had abandoned their first love. In response God would remove His light, His presence if they did not change. The refining light of God is important part to our love with Him. God is challenging us to wake up and receive his illuminating love over our lives.
