The tribe of Amalek killed many of the nation of Israel as they traveled through their land on the way to the promised land. Most of those killed were the weak and those separated from the main group. While Jesus was preaching four men brought a friend to be healed.  They had to take off the roof so they could get their friend to Jesus, because Jesus was in the house.  When Jesus is in the house anything is possible and since Jesus died and rose again and the Holy Spirit is ever with us Jesus is always in the house.

It is an amazing thing to realize that God has been working a long time before we realize a need. Rahab the harlot had already heard of the great things God had done 40 years earlier. Like the song "Waymaker" says, even when we don't see it or feel it, God is still working.

Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet. His tenure was over a 50+ year period.  Even though he rebuked and challenged the nation of Israel he also encouraged them during some very difficult years. God has always provided. He provided a lamb for the individual, Issac; for the family at the Passover; and for the nation of Israel. Now he is providing a lamb for the entire world.  Behold the Lamb.

The prophet Isaiah gives us many prophecies, one being the virgin birth. He also emphasizes many other signs and workings of God.  Just as surely as there was a virgin birth there will be a new heavens and new earth.
