When we think of Pentecost, we normally think of the upper room; but the first Pentecost occurred 50 days after the first Passover.  There must be a death before Pentecost.  The death of the Passover Lamb and the death to self.  Let's look at the origin of Pentecost. Most of us can say without any doubt that the Hand of God has been with us.  God has directed us, blessed us, and covered us.  But we also need to remember that God's hand of rebuke and correction is poised to correct us. Let's fall on the stone, lest the stone fall on us.

Paul gives some great words of encouragement. He does not want our faith to be in vain, neither does he want our labors to be in vain.  As believers, God desires for us to be the people God intendeds us to be.  In order to do that, we must labor or put forth an effort to fulfill that calling.  If we do that, he assures us that our labor will not be in vain. Moses and David both ask the question, "Who  am I?"  Who were they? Or better than that, who am I?   What is my purpose here?   Who am I trying to please?   Let's look at that question Who am I?

We've all been through seasons where it seemed like everyone had abandoned us. If we're honest with ourselves, it may have even felt like God abandoned us. Sometimes all we are left with is broken pieces, but if we will surrender our will and everything we have, we'll learn that God specializes in taking what we have left and He's able to make a masterpiece out of the pieces!
