We wrapped up this week on a mild note, with temperatures well into the 50s and 60s. As we go into the weekend however a cold front looks to change that. Friday evening into Saturday morning areas of showers will move with the front, but quickly clear out by Saturday afternoon.

As we head to Saturday, we are keeping an eye on a shower or two that may slide across parts of South Dakota, and by the afternoon will slide into southwest Minnesota. We are wrapping up September on a very warm and sunny note just like this past week. A cold front looks to past through the region Friday evening. This looks to bring a slight chance of showers along the Canadian border. After this slight chance of rain, we stay dry throughout the weekend.

The rain continues to fall over the upper Midwest as we go into the weekend. On and off showers do start to back off in the Dakotas as the system moves east however. The main area of rain brings a soggy scene over Minnesota and Wisconsin for Saturday.

This weekend looks to bring back more active chances of rain and some very warm weather for the middle of September. Shower and storm chances move through the Dakotas Friday evening out west. By Saturday the main chances of rain remain in the Dakotas.

After a stormy end to the week, we have a nice and quiet weekend to look forward to. Strong to severe storms look to move through the Red River Valley Friday evening, then move east and weaken overnight.

As we gear up for this weekend, we look for our second real round of heat this year. Unlike May's dry heat however, this time humidity will be in the picture. If you are heading out early Friday for any weekend plans, a few showers may interrupt plans, but they won't last long.
