A big cold snap is on the way next week for Thanksgiving.

We wrapped up this week on a mild note, with temperatures well into the 50s and 60s. As we go into the weekend however a cold front looks to change that. Friday evening into Saturday morning areas of showers will move with the front, but quickly clear out by Saturday afternoon.

Temperatures take a plunge and some of us will see our first snow flakes of the season.

After a cool and breezy Halloween with scattered showers, we dry out as we go into the weekend. The first day of November brings an overcast afternoon throughout the region.

As we head into the weekend we get a break from the chilly temperatures over this past week. The winds start to pick up on Saturday, with breezy south winds by the mid to late afternoon.

As we head to Saturday, we are keeping an eye on a shower or two that may slide across parts of South Dakota, and by the afternoon will slide into southwest Minnesota. Rain in these showers will be rather light however, and this will be the only chance for rain across the weekend for most of the region.      

We will start the weekend with dry conditions, however Saturday evening will bring in some showers, that will stick around for some through the end of the weekend.

We say goodbye to the 80s and return to normal October weather.

We are wrapping up September on a very warm and sunny note just like this past week. A cold front looks to past through the region Friday evening. This looks to bring a slight chance of showers along the Canadian border. After this slight chance of rain, we stay dry throughout the weekend.

The rain continues to fall over the upper Midwest as we go into the weekend. On and off showers do start to back off in the Dakotas as the system moves east however. The main area of rain brings a soggy scene over Minnesota and Wisconsin for Saturday.

This weekend looks to bring back more active chances of rain and some very warm weather for the middle of September. Shower and storm chances move through the Dakotas Friday evening out west. By Saturday the main chances of rain remain in the Dakotas.

After what's been a much cooler and windy past few days, relief is in sight this weekend. Winds will still be breezy from the north west for most of the region for Friday, but that backs off into the evening. By Saturday, winds are might lighter for a more pleasant afternoon outside.

We are heading into Labor Day and for many of us, the weather looks to be very pleasant this weekend. South Dakota however, will be looking at a rain system setting up shop the next few days.

Friday will be the main day we see chances for rain this weekend, but cooler temperatures will be moving in for a breezy weekend around the Northland.

We continue our active wet pattern as we go into this weekend. Storms from overnight Friday in the Dakotas travel east, resulting in showers and t-showers throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin during the afternoon for Saturday. As we go into Sunday another round of shower and storm chances move into the region.

After a stormy end to the week, we have a nice and quiet weekend to look forward to. Strong to severe storms look to move through the Red River Valley Friday evening, then move east and weaken overnight.

As we head into the first weekend of August, areas of rain and diminishing smoke will be the main features. For Saturday the south wind will help continue to clean out the smoke from the Canadian Wildfire, along with some chances of afternoon T-Showers in the Dakotas.

Storm chances will be around into the new week as well.

It's another weekend where most of us get a break from the rain. After Friday's thunder showers that rolled through the region, the last of that system moves out by Saturday morning. By the afternoon, a lot of us will be looking at partly to mostly sunny skies over the region.

Sunny skies and seasonal temperatures will be over the region this weekend.

Heat peaks on the 4th of July with highs in the 90s for most, before a cold front brings in evening t-storms into Saturday.

Bring plenty of water if you plan to be outdoors, and keep an eye on the radar.

As we gear up for this weekend, we look for our second real round of heat this year. Unlike May's dry heat however, this time humidity will be in the picture. For Friday night into Saturday, we are on the watch for strong to severe storms to move through areas of North Dakota and north central Minnesota.

Chances of showers and storms end the weekend and kick off early next week.

If you are heading out early Friday for any weekend plans, a few showers may interrupt plans, but they won't last long. Sunshine is expected for many by Friday afternoon, making it a nice start to the weekend. But a cold front will move in from the northwest, bringing a line of storms as it moves through.
