There are three practical steps you can take to help build good habits in your life and break down bad ones.

The craving comes after the cue and motivates us to act in the first place. Listen to learn more about three steps to help good habits seem more attractive.

The cues or triggers that lead to our habits have so much power over our lives. You should be aware of the cues in your life, both good and bad. Make the cues to bad behavior invisible in your life while making the cues as obvious as possible for new habits you want to start.

Continuing our look at the power of habits, we study the three layers of change. First, we need to focus on our identity. Once we know who we want to become, then we can focus on our habits and make goals to develop those habits.

This morning we begin a four part series on the power that habits have in our lives. Small changes can have profound impacts over time. Are your habits helping you grow closer to God or obey His will?

This morning we take a look at how this year has affected the church both nationally and locally. There are many reasons, though, to continue to be a part of the church!

This morning we look at the character of Simeon. Simeon knew form the Holy Spirit that he would see the Christ before he died. What joy he must have felt when he saw baby Jesus! We have a similar promise and we will also see Jesus one day. Are you prepared to meet Jesus when he returns?

Examining the Christmas story from the perspective of the shepherds and wisemen, we can learn two very important lessons. 1. We need to share the good news we have with others. 2. We need to have urgency and desire to worship God and Jesus.

We continue our look at characters from the Christmas story with Joseph. We can be more like him by realigning our lives to fit in with God's will. This may not be easy but is always worth it!

Entering this Christmas season, we examine the character of Mary and what we can learn from her about accepting God's plan for each of us.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Today, we talk about how to be thankful in the midst of all the chaos that we have experienced in the year 2020. To do that, we turn to the wonderful example of Habakkuk.

We are again not able to meet in person, due to the COVID outbreak. Today, we conclude our series “Church and Politics”, as we talk about the danger of making an idol out of politics.

Our church was hit personally by the Coronavirus, so we are not able to meet in person for our worship service. In the midst of the Coronavirus and the craziness of the 2020 presidential election, we need to remember to put our trust in God.

We shouldn't let our political views prevent us from from coming together as one and loving those outside the church. If we can do that, we can help spread the gospel message throughout the earth.

A review has so much power, good or bad, to influence people's lives and the decisions they make.  In our everyday lives, we count on reviews all the time.  In  John 4:1-42 , the Samaritans came to know Jesus was savior because of the review the woman gave him.  We have this same capacity today and we can give God a negative review, no review, or a positive review.&nbs...

Money and possessions are big topics in the Bible but everything belongs to God ( Psalms 24:1 ).  In Mark 12:41-44 , the widow demonstrates how we ought to give back to God first and foremost.  Are you worshiping your money or worshiping with your money?

While there are many different ways we can give our time back to God, two of the most important are prayer and reading the Bible.  Try to increase the time or quality of time you're giving back to God this week! 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Deuteronomy 6:4-9 Psalms 1:1-6

We have to give our best effort to God in everything we do.  Furthermore, we have 100% control over the effort we give which means we have no excuse for not giving our best effort to God.    - Colossians 3:17-25  - Romans 12:1-2  - 1 Corinthians 10:31  - 2 Timothy 2:15

Nero burned Rome, blamed it on the Christians, and persecuted them.  Paul was living under his rule, yet still encouraged prayer for for those in authority.  ( 1 Timothy 2:1-3 ) If Paul could encourage prayer for Nero, how much more should we pray for leaders in our day...even if they weren't our choice?  Practice praying for anyone that has authority or influene over you -...

The final message in the 20/20 Vision series focuses on expanding the Kingdom of God.  The Kingdom is the hope we have as Christians and was at the core of Jesus' teachings.  In  Matthew 13:31-33 , Jesus tells the parables of the mustard seed and the leaven about spreading the gospel of the Kingdom.  The message of the Kingdom must grow and we need to share it!

Part two of the 20/20 Vision series focuses on growing closer to God.  But, how do we do this?  By expressing love through the five love languages.  God speaks all of them! Gifts Quality time Words of affirmation Acts of service Physical touch

Success.  Money.  Happiness.  These are not bad things but they can become a danger when they become our "why" or our motivating factor.  Jesus talked about this in Matthew 6:19-24 .  Our purpose in life can't be about God AND success.  Take some time this week to focus on why do you do what you do.

Have you ever been in a debate with someone and it seems as if they aren't paying attention to what you have to say? This ties into the issue of people hear what they want to hear. This is a dangerous trap for Christians as we often want to hear what makes us feel good. This can often make us oblivious or deaf to the truth. Ensure that you desire to hear the truth!

Jesus shows a marvelous example of a Servant's heart in John 13 when he washes his disciples' feet.  We're called to follow this example.  For, Matthew 25:31-40 reminds us that when we serve others, we're serving Jesus.  Look for opportunities to serve one another/the church and those in need!
