We have to be aware of the idol of success. Valuing success more than God is such a natural tendency but God is ultimately the source of any success we have. Putting your focus on loving God more can help keep this in check.

Judas put money before God and it wreaked havoc in his life. Likewise, we can't let money get in the way of our relationship with God. Instead, we should respond to God's love by choosing to serve Him.

Relationships, although important, can be an idol if put above our relationship with God. The solution is not loving people less but loving God more!

An idol is anything more important to us than God. Some of the most common idols in our culture are relationships, money, and power. Whatever, the idol, we are called to get rid of it and make God the number one priority in our lives.

John talks about the importance of laughter and finding joy in life. There's a lot in life that can weigh you down. However, we can have victory in Jesus and that's something we can always find joy in.

Jesus reaffirmed the importance of the moral laws in the Old Testament but has given us freedom form the civil laws. Following his example, we should use this freedom to express our faith through love and obedience.

Baptism examples in the Bible have two things in common. They begin by someone sharing the word of God and someone receiving the word of God. Then, the people did not wait, but were baptized immediately upon hearing and believing. If you've already been baptized, your mission is to share the gospel message with others. Once you believe, that is the time to be baptized!

On Father's Day, we are reminded of some truths about our Heavenly Father. We are all creations of God and He loves us and wants to be our Father. We can become His children through adoption, through Jesus, when we accept the free gift and give our lives to Him. This is not a relationship to miss out on!

The message we carry as members of God's church is of the upmost importance and it is imperative we share it with others.

The doctrines we hold dear are very important and we should be ready to give an answer for what we believe.  We are also part of a larger Christian church that we can connect with and learn from.  More info available at Church of God General Conference .

Living a Godly life boils down to imitating God's character, feelings, and desire. In order to accomplish this, we must first put away our own fleshly desires and then replace them with His desires and character.

Once we repent and are baptized, we receive the Holy Spirit and have access to these amazing gifts. It's our job to discover what our spiritual gifts are and to use them.

A church needs both great leaders and great followers. If we want to be a member of God's church, we need to follow the leadership of the church which also means following Jesus, the ultimate leader of our church!

When we give back to God, it's important that we give with a cheerful heart. God has blessed us with so much more than we need and it is a joy to be able to give back to Him.

As Christians and members of God's church, we are called to faithfully gather together with other believers and there are many benefits to doing so.

As Christians, we need to be digging into God's word daily. There are many benefits to do so. God word leads us away from sin, provides direction, stands forever, sustains us, aligns our will with God's, is useful for so many things. As members of God's church we're not only encouraged but instructed to be in constant prayer to God. This week, we discuss how we can better communicate openly and honestly with God.

In this introduction to "Being a Member of God's Church" we establish a foundation for learning together over the next several weeks. Today, we clearly define God's church and examine the history, future, and organization of the church.

Happy Resurrection Sunday! He is Risen! Today, we focus on why we celebrate Easter Sunday all these years after the event. The resurrection proved that Jesus is the Son of God and assures us in our hope of the coming resurrection at His return.

Jesus' triumphal entry is a great example to us on how we can live our lives boldly as children of God. Jesus could have run away or slipped into the city undetected because he knew what was coming. But, he didn't! Our savior boldly and triumphantly rode into the city.

Jesus has commanded us to go and make disciples, baptizing them and teaching them. We can do this with confidence because God has given all authority to Jesus and he is with us always.

There are many ways you can get involved in expanding God's Kingdom. The important thing is that you take that first step today. Don't delay!
