Nope. I'm Scared

Skinwalkers honestly terrify us and also fascinate us. We're going to talk about some of the history and attributes of these people as best we can and give some spooks with context to better understand this Navajo legend. We want to continue encouraging people to rephrase the terminology for skinwalkers, as they are a part of people's culture and not just a scary story or made up cryptid. Insta: @...

This episode I'm sitting down with my new husband and fellow film savant Josh Rodrigues and we're giving a review of our very first time watching the cult classic Trick 'r Treat from 2007 written and directed by Michael Dougherty. This ode to Halloween definitely took us on a journey and gave us some surprises. We're going to review all of it so beware: spoilers ahead. Oh and always check your can...

And... we're back. We really didn't mean to be gone for as long as we did but welcome to season two of our podcast essentially! We're starting off real casual (seriously) with a discussion about Bigfoot. The PNW love Bigfoot and now that we are split between Portland and LA, we are sorry he got skipped for so long. Safe to say, we believe in Sasquatch and we're going to go through some research an...

So we can say that Mary Reeser did die but the jury is still out on what some of us think happened to her, Was is a simple matter of self combustion or was there something else going on. Did she just slip her slippers into blissful granny comfort that ended in a scorch mark and ashes? Alexa does a wonderful portrayal of Shane Madej in her wild mistrust of what Ella is telling her. PLEASE tell us w...

It's September now and spooky season has officially begun! We're starting to pile up on out research to get back to normal for the haunting time of the year, so dial back in! The Jersey Devil AKA the Leeds Devil is a story as old as America is apparently and it is swirling in rumors and tall tales, literally. Is it a cursed baby that went on to live a secluded life like that of Bigfoot? Is it all...

It's still summer! (unfortunately) We always think of camping in the summer time whether it's a summer camp, day camp, or you march yourself and your family out into those haunted woods and willingly let yourself fall asleep. So, Ella dug up some stories about people who had bad times out in these ones or they are just notorious no go camping areas. Safe to say we won't be going and definitely not...

This gal has a lot of stories surrounding her all shrouded in mystery and rumor. We're looking into her origins (not the Annabelle Creations movie, that was all fiction, same as most of the Annabelle movie tbh) but the story that is supposed to have actually happened. It all started with one mother giving her daughter a doll and got progressively worse over the next few months. Let us know what yo...

Hello! We're back! Sorry for the unexpected break; moving has a lot of hiccups and stress that we didn't plan for. In light of the Supreme Court decision, we're just here to tell you that we are just as mad and disgusted about this and we want you to know that we are here if you need to vent or need help. You can always come visit your buds in Oregon for your next vacation. <3 So we took it eas...

Ah, the catacombs. You know them, you love them. I mean who doesn't like neatly stacked bones to make a city of the dead with a limestone base beneath Paris, city of love and lights. ESPECIALLY when those bones were ripped out of the ground from other places and moved because "space needs." Doesn't that sound like totally great and not asking to be kicked in the ass by the afterlife? Well, we're g...

Have you heard about the girl who developed poltergeist powers in the 1920s? Except it was all directed at her rather then out at other people, super weird. This original Carrie of a lass had the European continent enthralled because there was really no answers to why and how it was happening, but they did do their best to try and get some answers. instagram/twitter: nope_im_scared email: nopeimsc...

First of all, HOLY SHIT AUSTRALIA! Hi, hello! Wow, we were not expecting that at all and we try to update the little more info that is out there, but we promise were checking in on it. Now, you ever wonder what people say when just super weird, unexplainable stuff happens? Well, sometimes they get classified as cases of mass hysteria and we're going to talk about some of the strangest instances of...

News anchor Jodi Huisentruit left in a hurry for work on the morning of June 27, 1995 after being woken up by her producer telling her that she was late for work. She never made it to work that day and we still have no idea what happened to her. We're going to go over the timeline, crime scene, and people of interests at the time or since. If you get hooked and want more please check out the Find...

You know how we all hate an empty hospital? You know that eerie dread that comes from the steady beeping and clip clop of footsteps in a hospital hallway? Why is that? We have a lot of ideas but we can all agree that nurses and doctors tend to have some of the creepiest stories of a touch with the paranormal. Do you have some too??? TRIGGER WARNING This episode is talking about the evil and horrors that is the history of Pennhurst School and Hospital. We'll be talking about direct quotes from the staff about how they looked at and treated their patients with mental and physical disabilities throughout the history. We'll cover the evidence from both "Suffer the Little Children" news series from 1968 and the court case in 1977...

She may or may not have bathed in bathtubs of blood, she may or may not have been a vampire, and Anna may or definitely not died in the way she deserved. What we can say for sure about this historic lady is that 1. she's a monster, 2. no one should let teenagers control large masses of land that other people live on, and 3. people really knew how to make nicknames back then. Curious? Well you'll j...

If you hear a whistle in the night, safe to say that something bad is the source. At least that's a way to keep yourself safe, probably. This episode we are talking about El Silbon, which means The Whistler, as well as superstitions around whistling in general. Ella also throws a fit because she HATES whistling even though she continues to tease Alexa because she can't do it. Have you heard of thi...

Hughbert (I don't care if it's spelled wrong because this man is awful) existed in history. He has become famous as one of the world earliest and deadliest serial killers and he liked to do his gruesome acts in what he called a Castle (it is not, don't be fooled) Want to know more? Well, you're just going to have to listen and find out. Instagram/ Twitter: nope_im_scared Email: nopeimscaredpodcast...

Do you ever read something and just know you were meant to be together? That's us on this episode, no seriously. We freaking fell in love with this legend and are deeply saddened that we got the watered down American version of the Dullahan with the Headless Horseman. To be fair, it's all great and the HH is stunning but can't hold a candle to the OG <3 We're kidding (kinda) but yes the Dullaha...

Hey Aussie babes! Why didn't you tell us about this one? It's wild and we need answers. Melissa Caddick went missing in November of 2020, the day after her home was raided by the government for possible fraud. Where did she go? Is she hiding? Where's all the missing money? To make it worse, three months later a single running shoe washed on shore with her foot in it (ew) and so we have only more q...

If you didn't know already, we love Scream, especially Alexa. It might be her favorite scary movie (keep that in mind if you get a scary phone call in the middle of the night while you're Drew Barrymore popping popcorn) so of course we ran out to see the new one. We tried our darnedness to keep out the spoilers and I think we succeeded? Let us know if you've seen the movie and what you thought abo...

We all know Alexa hates lakes right? So, why on earth is she talking about the deepest lake in the United States? Because we face our fears ghosts and ghouls. No, honestly, this lake is super interesting and mysterious and just all around fascinating. There are missing people, strange and unique animals, native legends, cool island names, planes that crash for no reason, strange weather, murder, a...

We're easing back in after that super intense three-parter case and also coming back after the holiday season so we thought what better than to watch a scary movie and then talk about for a while. We're talking about 2019's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark from the mind of Guillermo Del Toro and director Andre Ovredal. If you like our movie reviews let us know and we'll keep them up semi-regularl...

Here it is pumpkins! Here it is our dear ghosts and ghouls. Part three, the finale, the trail, the end all be all for now. Don't worry we'll address that last part. We're talking the trial and beyond. What did each side present? What was the evidence? What was up with the jury? AND, of course, what did we think? All of this in the cataclysmic ending to this crazy, awful case the is the murder of L...

Welcome back ghosts and ghouls. We'll be honest, this episode is not fun. This time we're talking about the investigation, the affair, and the discovery of bodies in the bay. So, if you know this case and want to skip forward, we'll see you next week, if you don't like gruesome details same thing. Otherwise let's all hold hands and get through this together. instagram/ twitter: nope_im_scared emai...

Laci Peterson went missing on December 24, 2002 and it would captivate the nation almost immediately and lead to a huge media storm that we haven't exactly seen in many cases since. This case is still heavily talked about and debated, but, Ella has no idea what really happened. This will be multiple parts because Alexa doesn't know how to pick which information can be left out, so I hope y'all are...
