Living With Love and Truth. - June 15, 2022 Christ calls us to live our lives with true love. God is our grace, and God is our truth that we can emulate in our own lives.

June 12, 2022 - Do we have to love our enemies? Think about that one person that you can't stand to be around. You go out of your way to avoid them. Jesus says to love that person; He calls us to do more than just wave. He calls us to engage with our enemies, to show them love, and care for them. How do we do this?

So what do we do? Jesus says that words are important and as followers of Him we should be mindful of how we speak to those around us.

What does Jesus say about coveting? - May 8, 2022 Matthew 5:27-30 It is difficult to remain content with the life and the things God has given us when we view contentment through the eyes of our culture. When we view contentment through Jesus we see that it's about the state of our heart.

Is all sin the same to God? - May 1, 2022 It can be hard to think of all sin as the same by human standards. We would pull out the scales and determine that murder is more heinous than lying. But in scripture, we see God leveling the field and calling all sin equally as heinous. 

What are the words of Jesus? - April 24, 2022 Matthew 5:17-20 Do we need to learn about the Old Testament to live, love, and go like Jesus? Jesus was serious about the Old Testament and often used it to relate and respond to people around him. So in order to be more like Jesus we need to be serious about learning and maturing as Christians of God word. 

What is the purpose of the resurrection? - April 17, 2022   Christians celebrate the resurrection each year by reflecting on Jesus' death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. Because of Jesus' death, burial, resurrection, and ascension, we are no longer dead in our sins or bound by our weaknesses. We can follow Jesus knowing that we are alive in Him! He is risen!

Does everyone see Jesus’ death the same as I do? - April 10, 2022 Every culture views the world with preconceptions based on their cultural experiences. So how does this affect the way each culture views Jesus' death on the cross? It is important for us to understand other cultures so we are able to connect with others and relay Jesus's death in a way that relates to them. 

How can Jesus help me in my weakness? - April 3, 2022 Weakness can present itself in many ways, and quite often, it presents as a physical illness or even a struggle to regain power. So what do we do? We can look to Christ in our weakness! Christ took our weakness on Himself when he died on the cross, and in turn, we received his power of the Holy Spirit.

March 20, 2022 - Why did John write 1 John? 1 John 2:12-14 John asks some difficult questions, but who was he addressing? John tells us that he's speaking to the whole church when he asks these things, and we should not shy away from these hard questions. We should lean into the growth that comes by continuing to ask ourselves difficult questions. 

Who is the Anti-Christ? - March 13, 2021  In history, we see the label Anti-Christ mentioned in reference to political leaders and prominent individuals. Even the pope. But can we know who the Anti-Christ is?  New Testament John gives us a description of what makes an Anti-Christ, and what we as followers should do when we find an Anti-Christ. 

What do you love? - March 6, 2022 1 John 2:15-17 We all have sin and want things, not of God but point to lust, greed, and pride. We seek after our desires without seeking Christ's plan. How do we break free of this?

If I follow Jesus, will I still sin? - February 27, 2022 1 John 2    If we say that we know Jesus, we will obey His word. Because we have Jesus in our lives, He gives us the freedom to become more like Him. Our lives are marked by grace and truth, perfect, pure, and holy before God because of Jesus.

I’m a sinner, am I still saved? - February 20, 2022 1 John 1:5-2:2 As believers, we are called to live like Jesus, but how is that possible when we continue to sin? We read in 1 John how Jesus is not only the standard but the advocate when we fail. 

Live in the Light - February 13, 2022    1 John 1:1-4 Have you ever been so excited about something that you spent time learning about it, preparing for it, then you experience it, and it was so much better than expectations?  John shares with us his expectations of the coming Messiah and how Jesus surpasses all expectations. 

February 6, 2022 - Is God calling us to walk in faith?  To live like Jesus, Love like Jesus, and Go like Jesus, we have to step out in brave faith, trusting Him to lead the way.

What do you do when God's plan is different than your plan? - January 23, 2022 Often we are going about our lives when suddenly something happens, and then we are going in a completely different direction. We can find hope during these changes by looking to scripture and leaning into Jesus. 

How do we love the vulnerable? - January 16, 2022 We often pass by others who are hurting and seeking hope, but what can we do? In his words and actions, Jesus shows us how to love the vulnerable and point them to Him to find hope. 

How did Jesus make disciples? - January 9, 2022 Have you ever wondered what it looks like to make disciples? As we strive to be Jesus in every corner of our culture, the call to make disciples becomes clear. We are to share Jesus with those around us by giving what we have, spending time with each other, and sharing our lives. 

How do we obey God’s word and get involved? - January 2, 2022 To be Jesus in every corner of our culture, we obey God’s word and get involved.  We often read God’s word and choose not to act on what we have read, but to reach our culture, we must read and then get involved with our culture with what we have learned. Getting involved is how we bring Jesus to every corner of our culture.
