The first chapters of Mark's Gospel present us with the arrival of the Kingdom of God and more importantly Jesus the King.  What does this kingdom look like, and what is its reign over?

God the Father has lovingly and purposefully created all things.  To know Him is to know who we really are and our purpose meaning and value.  Therefore, to live apart from Him is to live in a dysfunctional state, and to live with Him is to live a normal functional and beautiful life.

This week we’re talking about God the Father of the family. We discuss how God has always been Father, Satan the father of all lies, God the Father of the family and God’s ultimate plan for our Family under his kingship. 

Jesus is the unique true Son of the Father.  He reflects the Father perfectly and is the radiance of God's glory.  Our sin means that we deliberately reject the Father and the only reason and way we are restored is through the loving plan of the Father.

The first week in the series called I love the Father.  Derek speaks about our deep need to know the Father, and to rest in Him, and also the way the human fatherhood falls far short of God's fatherhood.

Jesus heals and cleanses a leper showing us the way that God cleanses and restores us all from the dirt, guilt, shame, regrets, and sinfulness that we struggle with.

As Jesus comes to the end of the Sermon on the Mount He presents two gates, two types of fruit, two types of disciple and two builders. 

Jesus tells us not to judge others and that we can ask the Father for our needs.

Hebrews 6 tells us that through Jesus our soul is anchored to the Holy God. 

Jesus tells us to store up treasures in heaven and that when we do, many of our worries and anxiety will disappear.  What a gift it is to seek first the kingdom of God.

Jesus exposes our desire for the honour and glroy that comes from men.  This is ultimately of no value compared to the treasure that comes from heaven.

As Jesus continues in his sermon on the mount it becomes obvious that humans have no ability to be righteous of themselves without God's gift of righteousness that comes through Jesus.

The first believers were completely changed when they had received the Spirit.  Derek speaks of this change and of the way that repentance, faith and baptism were at the heart of the expanding early church.

On the day of Pentecost the Spirit appeared as tongues of fire and descended on the first believers.  Derek speaks about this incredible day.

Judas is the disciple who betrayed Jesus.  He departed and stole from the Son of God and yet at times we wonder if we also have committed the 'unforgivable sin'.  Derek talks about where the Christian can find assurance in times of doubt.

Derek speaks about the neccessity of a person being born again to be a Christian.

Derek speaks about Jesus' ascension and how Jesus through the Holy Spirit empowers us to live out the great commission.

The resurrection is the truth that Christianity either stands or falls on.  If there is no resurrection then everything is meaningless, but if Jesus rose from the dead then absolutely everything has meaning.

The angel said to the women, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen."  The resurrection changes our outlook on basically every aspect of our lives.

Derek speaks about the crucifixion and death of Jesus showing that it, along with the resurrection of Jesus, comprehensively finishes every aspect of our salvation.

Derek talks about Peter's denial of Jesus and the way that all of us fall and sin in similar ways.

Derek speaks about the expectations of who Jesus would be and what He would do as He entered Jerusalem in the last week of his life.
