Guest speaker Rod James shares with us the way that whilst we will have tribulation in our lives, that we will also have hope through the Holy Spirit and the 'advantage' He gives us.

Peter tells wives with non-believing husbands to submit to them.  Husbands are also to honour and love their wives.  Where does these commands have their basis and how can they have the power to obey?

Derek speaks about God's glorious design for marriage to reflect his very being, and also the terrible sin of lust and rebellion against God.

Matt speaks about God's glorious people through Jesus, and how they are to act.

As we’ve noticed in Peter’s letter so far, he is writing to Christians who are realising that following Jesus means living as outsiders in a world that doesn't accept them just as it didn’t accept their saviour. There are 3 main take-aways from this passage. 1, our response as Christians to being mistreated. 2, Our calling as Christians. 3, Our constant reenforcement of the Gospel. 

As we continue in our series through first Peter, we explore Peter’s points regarding submission to authorities through Christ. As we unpack this, these are the 5 points we’ll discuss; Point 1; Jesus Christ the central pillar. Point 2; Authorities as instruments of God, Point 3; The command for believers, Point 4; True Freedom vs. Self indulgence, And finally Point 5; Walking by the Spirit. 

Jesus is called the Cornerstone, and on Him the whole church is built of 'living stones".  Jesus is the precious cornerstone to all who believe and yet to those reject Him, He has become a stumbling block which causes them to stumble.

We tend to think that the temporary things of the world can bring us purpose and satisfaction. However, we must remember that it is the living and enduring word of God that sustains and gives purpose to all believers.

Peter tells us that Jesus was chosen before the creation of the world.  This gives us a solid foundation for life, knowing that all that we do and are, is safe and secure in his eternal plans and purposes.

In this message we explore the meaning of redemption, and the surprising thing we have been redeemed from.  Jesus had to be the ransom we could not pay!

We come to God as Father, and He is impartial, that is, He has no favourites.  Therefore, He will judge us equally and so we should set our minds on holiness.

Christians are greatly privileged to have received a Gospel revelation that is the substance of what the prophets saw in part, and that which angels longed to know.  Walking a Gospel centred life causes us to live alert, sober-minded, set apart, holy lives.

A woman who had been bleeding for many years came to Jesus for healing.  But Jesus did not let her receive physical healing alone - He brought her to an amazing new freeedom and life.

At times our love for God goes 'cold'.  How can we get back to the place where our love for Him is lively and full of joy?  Surely it must come from growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Today Ned explores the importance of the resurrection for our lives. There are 3 points that are explored; Point 1, Jesus is the fulfilment of prophecy. Point 2, what does the resurrection mean for us if we trust Jesus vs if we don't trust Jesus. Point 3, what do we do now in light of the reality of the resurrection.   

Crucified next to Jesus was a criminal who underwent a great change and became the template for every child of God ever!

The Passover displays the way God protects and frees his people whilst judging the Egyptians.  Surely we must not fear this world or anything that seems frightening in it, but rather fear God!

Peter explains how God applies his refining fire to our lives to sanctify and bring growth to us through trials.

Peter tells us that the salvation that Jesus gives to us brings an eternal security which changes everything for us in the way we live in this world and look to the next.

God makes us holy or sanctifies us by his Spirit throughout our Christian life through every aspect of our lives.

God uses our trials, suffering and hardships to bring about the best in His preorganised plans for our lives.   God is the prime mover.

God is glorious beyond our deepest knowledge or wildest imagination.  And yet we have seen his glory through Jesus his Son.  Surely our most fulfilled and satisfied life comes when we live giving glory to Him alone.

Today we explore one of the greatest declarations of Jesus Christ's character and authority. Ned speaks about Jesus being the creator, saviour and sustainer of our lives. 

In Colossians 2 Paul speaks of the all-sufficiency and glory of Jesus our Saviour and the Ruler over all.  This sermon is from Derek guest preaching at the Chinchilla Church of Christ.

Today Ned explores 3 major themes from Matthew 11:20-30 The importance of repentance and the woes that come to those who do not repent.  Jesus' declaration that He and the Father are one in the same. Finally, Jesus giving us rest.
