Hello garage rockers, are you ready to rock and roll? Special delivery to you on this modcast is some great old 80s garage rock. It's loud and brash, with lots of fuzzy guitars and pounding drums. The girls will all be in miniskirts and gogo boots, while the boys will have Prince Valiant hair and lotsa paisley shirts. This show is packed with great music, some of it a little obscure as I've chosen...

Finally! Welcome to the modcast kids, I've got a great show lined up for you. Out here in the Pacific Northwest we just survived Seattle's snowpacalypse. We got over a foot of snow here in West Seattle at Suave Mannor and spent the past week housebound. That doesn't usually happen out here. Rain yes, a little snow sometimes, but not like this. It was Seattle's biggest snowfall in almost 100 years,...

I can't remember who but a while back somebody messaged me and asked if I'd do a whole show of cool organ jazz, and well here it is. The first one at least. I've got a couple of other organ shows brewing in the back of my mind. But this one is all just cool jazz numbers really. Some by artists you're sure to recognize and some by a few that might be new to you. As always find a complete track list...

This is it, the end of another year. 2018 is bowing out and 2019 is stepping up to the plate. This past year was a pretty damn good one for new music. So much so that it's taken me weeks to really filter through the crop and pick just the ripest bits of tasty musical fruit. Tons of good bands simply didn't make the cut, not because they didn't produce good stuff, but just because I only have one m...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and you know what that means. Time for another modcast office Christmas party. Here we are twenty plus years past the heyday of Britpop and the internets are all atwitter wondering whether or not we're having a Britpop revival. Can you really revive something that never died? Maybe it's more of a Britpop resuscitation. Either way I settle the debate and put the question of a Britpop revival to bed on an all new, supersized modcast. Oops, the iPod did it again. I'm either too busy or too lazy to curate my own modcast this week. That's right it's that time again, time for the old iPod to shuffle up a batch of random acts of music excellence. So, here's your chance to peek behind the curtain as it were and see what's lurking on my disk drives. Let's set the iPod on shuffle and be on our way. As always find a complete track list...

I've got a special treat for you this week. Guest hosting is UK musician and composer André M. André has been pushing out some fantastic, hammond-based soul, funk and R&B for a bit now. Welly, welly, well, sirs, here it is. Start. Stop. Turn it off and back on again maybe it will work. Lo, and behold the modcast is back up and running after some behind the scenes technical difficulties with my host, Podomatic. I don't know if it makes me feel better to know it wasn't just me that suffered, but most all of those who use Podomatic. But no matter everything seems to be back online a...

It's baseball season so I've called up a promising prospect to give this week's modcast some real slugging power. Mike Patton from Vista Blue joins me this week to talk baseball, music, and baseball music. He's submitted a line up that is sure to win. Jazz has always played a big part of the mod lifestyle, indeed it was arguably the founding sound of the original mods. Over the years R&B, soul, power pop and other musical styles have become even more dominant in some ways. But elements of jazz always have been and always will be a mainstay of mods the world over. I'm not a deep jazz cat by any means, but I like jazz. I've got lots of jazz f...
