A little clip from a China Radio International - a station that plays this traditional music with no station breaks or announcements. This one reminded me a little of Beefheart's A Carrot is as Close as a Rabbit Gets to a Diamond - same pentatonic moves here. Link to the post.

From the notebook: "2023-07-31 Four Chords Notebook Idea" - Are there only four? The little descending, Askance-like melody informs this Pulsinators idea that I'll post tomorrow. I sped this up from 120 to 140 and like it better. Link to the post.

Next Guitar Cult time is on the 9th, so I'm cobbling together bits for exploration. This time around, I'm trying to resist the urge to pre-compose everything and take it more iteratively. Small bits. I found a bunch of things on the shelf, but this lil guy is a brain teaser. I can play the parts by themselves, and I can hear the beat behind them when there isn't one, but it REALLY does...

Dusting off the ESQ-1 after years of dormancy, and sequencing it up with the EP-133. I played this synth so much with Wiz Priz, and used it in every soundtrack I did for by brother Andy. It's such a versatile awesome sounding synth. The programming is pretty intuitive even though all digital (no knowbs - all values on a menu you change with a slider or arrow buttons) but it's super quick t...

Easy into some vacation time. This acoustic noodling could be shaped into something. Note to self that IMG_7435.MOV is the source for this audio. Link to the post.

I have a pile of things to go through and (minimally) demo so I can bring them to either a) Caudal Peduncle practice b) Medicine Hat practice or c) Guitar Cult practice. This is called "2020.06.24.RV-11_15_lightsOut" and was something Thin Lizzy ish for Bryan and I to play in Rosso Viti. Still stuck in my head and I want to play it in something. Link to the post.

Practicing live sequencing with that EP-133 and the Moog AND my 4-track, which is sounding pretty good. Link to the post.

Starting to crib together an ep-133, moog, thuja and ensoniq esq-1 setup for more live jamming/sequencing. The ep's sequencer rules, and I'm having such a blast just setting sequences up with the Moog. And summer seems to be starting earlier. Link to the post.

Well this seems entirely too long, but whatevs. Piano Solo 6 from an old notebook pre-2012. This was real slow on the initial demo but it feels different at 92 - was at 60. Man that piano I had was incapable of holding tune, but I LOVED it regardless. I found the worst string at the end there. Here's a picture of it's soundboard, and notation for today's bit.
