Middle Of The Order

The Rays have been great the last few years and this year is no exception. Despite missing key starting pitchers from last year still, the Rays will always be tricky to beat. Even in a tough AL East, they can still find a way to come on top. Never doubt them 

Matt Chapman is the next big free agent to come off the board as he signs with the Giants and that move changes the outlook that the Giants looked like they were going to have entering 2024. We've got some starting pitcher injuries to go over as well as a look into the upcoming Spring Breakout and the plans for the rest of the month. 

The Mariners are in a tricky spot, playing in an AL West that has the Rangers and Astros there and even if they look at the Wildcard, plenty of AL East teams to battle there. Despite a weird offseason that had then making lots of trades, there team is still good, but is it good enough to compete with the other teams? 

The Reds took huge strides last year and in what is a division where any team can come out on top, there is no reason to believe that the Reds can't win the NL Central. So much young talent and potential. Let's see how the kids improve thus year. 

The Padres finished just one game over .500 last year, and they lost key pieces like Soto, Snell and Hader. They weren't clutch and struggled in 1 run games, that should change this year but how good can they be without those key 3 players.  

The Twins were your AL Central champs last year. How good can they be with a healthy Buxton and Lewis or more importantly how tough can this year be without them. 

The Marlins were crazy good in 1 run games last year supporting a impressive 33-14 record. Although there should be no way they are able to recreate that success, they have enough talent and young players with potential to recreate a playoff berth. 

The Cubs were looking shaky entering 2024 until they finally resigned Cody Bellinger, now there's no doubt they can be contending for the division. If the pitching can hold strong this year, who knows how far the cubs can go

The Guardians weren't the Guardians they expected to be in 2023. With the teams 2 top prospects right now set to debut this year, will the kids be able to put the Guardians on top, or will the other teams more experienced players keep them at bay. 

The Cardinals, after what was the most disappointing year for the franchise since 1995 are looking to bounce back in a big way starting with that awful starting pitching from last year. They bring in Sonny Gray, Kyle Gibson and Lance Lynn, now the question is, is it enough? 

The Tigers rebuild is coming along and this might be the true first season we see the fruits from their labor. With fun and exciting names around the diamond, Tiger fans should be excited for 2024

The Brewers are heading into what I think is going to be the hardest season for them in the last 5 years. Known for the elite pitching but with Burnes traded and Woodruff on the IL, I think we are going to see a different looking team in years past 

The Red Sox can be good but when you look at the rest of the AL East teams, it's hard to think of them as such. Can Boston pull rabbits out of their hat or will they be looking at another 5th place division finish 

The Mets are in a tricky spot making 1 year deals and using this year as a transitory year to get to 2025 and 26, I'm sure Mets fans want to know if Pete Alonso will be around that long.  

After a long 110 days, Cody Bellinger has finally signed with a team, and he's resigning with the Cubs. Now with one of the big guys gone, we are still left wondering about the other ones as we are officially into our first week of spring training, which players have had a great first week. 

The Giants made a fun signing by bringing over Jung Hoo Lee from the KBO. But unfortunately it's the starting pitching that worries me the most, In a top heavy division and it's looking like a tough year is a head for the Giants

The Royals might just be my team to watch in 2024. They had one of if not the best offseason's and if Bobby Witt can make a run for MVP, why can't the Royals win the division. Cue clown music... maybe?

The Angels without Ohtani, it's going to be a year for them that's for sure. It will be hard to believe the Angels are going to be better this year now that Ohtani is gone but hey, crazier things have happened. 

The Pirates are getting to that point of being a young and fun team, almost like the Reds last year, how much fun are the pirates going to have this year?

The Nationals are continuing to rebuild with some of there more talented players emerging from past trades for Soto, Scherzer and Turner. How do they look entering 2024 and what will a successful season mean for them going forward.

After last years struggles on and off the field with players talking about the lack of leadership how will the White Sox fair in the AL Central. Despite the struggles they still have talented players, the question is which of them will step up as a leader.

Moving on we have our next team the Colorado Rockies. In what will be a top heavy division in the NL West, what kind of positives can they take away from the upcoming season. 

The start of our TOPs and we've got Oakland today. With all the news about their relocation coming up, what kind of team will they be sending out there this year? 

Spring Training is here and baseball is back. But despite that, we still have plenty of great players still unsigned so we need to be talking about those players when they eventually find a place to sign. Hendricks. Woodruff and Merrifield are the big guys this signed this week so we'll talk about them and more in today's episode
