This week we discuss the meaning of "vengeance". We look at the implications of what we see happening around us today and how we are not to be instruments of vengeance. That job is already taken. There are extensive notes to this which are available at www.mbmukfamily.com

This week we discuss how GOD is jealous and what this really means. We look at how our understanding of jealousy misinterprets what GOD, who is the Jealous GOD conveys. We discuss how correctly motivated jealousy is actually an extension of love.

We begin our study of the book of Nachum. This week we look at some of the history surrounding the time and context of Nachum. We also discuss the role of prophecy in the world and how we are to understand the work of the Ruach Hakodesh (the Holy Spirit).

This week we take a look at the Torah portion Tazria which begins with the ritual impurity of the woman who has given birth and concludes with the garments afflicted with leprosy (tzaraas). As we conclude the scroll of Micah we begin with a discussion of our perception of current events and what we can learn from this chapter. We discuss how what appears to be disastrous is actually a continung refinement of us and the culmination of the glory of HaShem.

This week change gears and look at the book of Esther. We discuss how all the events that we see taking place are actually happening of the week of Passover and Unleavened Bread but are also closely associated with Yom Kippur. You'll want the notes to go with this!

This week we conclude Micah 6. We discuss the summing up of the Judge and look at the case that has been made against the people. We discuss how this is applicable to us and recognise that the discipline that we encounter is not to destroy us but to redirect us back to HaShem, particularly as we look at the present events around us.

This week we continue with our study of Micah as we begin chapter 6. We discuss the legal argument that is set out in the beginning of the chapter and the implications for the redeemed community as those joined into the covenants.

This week, we take some time to review our inderstanding so far regarding what we have learnt in studying the 12 Prophets. There are no notes - an opportunity to listen to what people have been learning.

This week we look at Micah 5 and the importance of Bethlehem in the prophecy relating to Messiah. We also the discuss the hidden name of Messiah and the example of the Messianic era through the eyes of the events during the life of King Hezekiah and what they can teach us regarding the circumstances we find ourselves in today.

This week we conclude chapter 4 and discuss the importance of the title "daughter of Zion" discovering the prophetic implications of its connection with Joseph, Messiah and the establishing of the Messianic era in the future.

We continue in Micah chapter 4. In our discussion we look more closely at how the Messiah will gather his kingdom. We look at how the construction of the Mishkan in Exodus is a template of the future kingdom of Messiah

This week we discuss the opening of Micah 4. We focus on the phrase "in the latter days" "acharit yamim". We look at the where it appears elsewhere in the scripture and how the Giving of the Torah creates a template for the Messianic Era. We also consider how that impacts us as we live in the messianic era of Messiah ben Joseph today, awaiting the period of Messiah ben David.

This week we look at the 3rd Chapter of Micah. We discuss the exploitation of the rulers over the nation. We see how money is the driving force and how greed limits insight. We discuss the intervention of Mashiach as the prophet looks beyond even our present time, but sees the pattern of history repeated.

In our discussions this week we look at Micah 2 and the continung judgment that is being declared against the conduct of the people. We look at the example of King Ahab and how the circumstances around the events Naboth and Jehoshaphat teach us about our own dealings with authorities and each other.

As we continue our study in Micah, we look at the the prophet's ability to identify with the people and with HaShem. We discuss the importance of seeking to understand HaShem's purposes without our own personal biases and discover some of the more poetic language in the passages.

This week we continue our studies in Micah and we discuss the issues of syncretism and how the passages link in with Leviticus 14.
