a Look into the lives of the Kings of Judah and Israel.  their victories and their failures as well as God's mercies and judgements upon them. 2 Corinthians is a look into Paul's willingness to endure any hardship for the benefit of the believes and the sake of the Gospel.

Jonah 1-4, 2 Kings 15, 2 Corinthians 2-3 28.08.2022

Jonah the reluctant prophet.  One bad king after another in Israel continues along with some from Judah as well.  Paul urges the Corinthians to be obedient in all things, writing church discipline but also restoration and forgiveness for repentant brother. 

2 Chronicles 25, John 1-2, 2 Corinthians 1 28.08.2022

Amaziah of Judah is blessed for obeying God's prophet then turns to following pagan gods and ends up fleeing Jerusalem and being killed.  The diety of Christ is laid out as the outward expression of God.  Paul desires to come to Corinth but God's hand moves as it wills.

2 Chronicles 24, 2 Kings 14, 1 Corinthians 16 27.08.2022

Joash , influenced by Johoiada the priest, has the house of the Lord repaired, yet turned back to Baal worship after Jehoiada's death.  More timeline of Israel's division taking place with many similar names Israel and Judah.   Paul gives instructions and greetings to the church of Corinth.  

2 Kings 12-13 26.08.2022

The kings of the north and their genealogy follow after the evil of Jeroboam as idolaters.   Reparation of the Temple of God begins as Jehoash reigns and draws Judah back into worship of God.  

2 Kings 10-11, 1 Corinthians 15 25.08.2022

Seventy sons of Ahab along with everyone else connected to Ahab are slaughtered along with all of those who worshipped Baal and the alters to Baal are destroyed, routing out evil in Samaria. Paul is sharing his clear vision given through Jesus of resurrection and salvation.

2 Kings 9 24.08.2022

God fulfills what He had spoken through the prophets of the Kings of the North and South along with Jezebel. 

2 Kings 7-8, 1 Corinthians 14 23.08.2022

Israel and Judah continue being seduced away from God.  Elisha wept at the evil that he saw coming at the hand of Joram.  Paul addresses speaking in tongues, prophesying and disruptions during worship by calling for proper use of the gifts of God to be used in an orderly manner.   

2 Kings 5, 1 Corinthians 13 21.08.2022

Elisha instructs Naaman on how God will heal him of leprosy while Elisha's servant tries to profit from a prophet.  The greatest of these is Love, Paul speaking to the church of the spiritual gifts. 

2 Kings 4, 1 Corinthians 12 21.08.2022

Elisha has the Lord's anointing of Elijah upon him, performing many miracles.  Teaching on the proper perspective of the possession of various gifts of the Lord in the body of the church.  

2 Kings 2-3 20.08.2022

Elijah is taken up to heaven in chariots of fire.  Elisha's ministry begins by taking upon Elijah's mantel and immediately being challenged by worshippers of Baal.

Obadiah, Psalms 82-83, 2 Kings 1, 1 Corinthians 11 19.08.2022

Obadiah prophesies the doom of the Edomites for gloating over Israel's misfortune.  God judges the unjust and confounds His enemies.  Elijah foretells the King of Israel's death for seeking a false god's decision.  Christian order and what the Lord's Supper represent are explained as Jesus taught Paul.

2 Chronicles 21-23, 1 Corinthians 10 18.08.2022

A list of the rise and fall of kings in Judah until a priest sees that the son in hiding will lead them back to Godliness.  Paul's wisdom simplified is, be a good witness and be sensitive to the spiritually weaker brothers and sisters in the church.  

2 Chronicles 19-20, 1 Corinthians 9 17.08.2022

Jehoshaphat is judged by God as once again he made a bad alliance with the king of Israel after God had answered the prayers of Judah, delivering them without raising a hand.  Paul shares his compulsion to preach the gospel being the stewardship given him my Jesus.

1 Kings 22, 2 Chronicles 18 16.08.2022

Jehoshaphat aligns with Ahab compromising himself and because Ahab fails to listen to a prophet of God he is killed by a random arrow, he thought he could escape God's judgement.    

1 Kings 21, 1 Corinthians 8 15.08.2022

Ahab sulks due to coviting Naboth's vineyard so Jezebel plots and has Naboth killed.  Elisha speaks of God's plan of retribution to Ahab.  We, having knowledge need to be sensitive so as not to cause our brothers to stumble by the provoking of a conscience that is weak in understanding, thereby tempting him to sin.    

1 Kings 19-20, 1 Corinthians 7 14.08.2022

Elijah flees for his life in exhaustion and fear of Jezebel's threat, goes to the mountain of God and heard God's voice in a gentle wind.  Ahab failed to learn "don't mess with the prophets."  Paul's teachings on marriage.

1 Kings 18, I Corinthians 6 14.08.2022

Obadiah meets Elijah, and Elijah meets with Ahab where a challenge is proposed to meet at Mount Carmel, and God is proven.  Flee from immorality and glorify God, the body is the Lord’s.      

2 Chronicles 17, 1 Kings 17, 1 Corinthians 5 12.08.2022

Good King Jehoshaphat rules and has the priests go city to city teaching all of Judah the Law.  Elijah speaks the word of God to Ahab, God provides and raises the son of a widow who's caring for Elijah.  Immorality enters the Corinthian church, the body becomes arrogant instead of mourning.  

2 Chronicles 15-16, I Kings 16, 1 Corinthians 4 11.08.2022

Judah's king Asa reforms worship back to God then relies on cunning and pacts instead of God, thereby provoking God to anger.  Jericho is being rebuilt by pagan idolators and the Northern Kingdom turns further and further from God.  The Corinthian church is falling into false doctrine and Paul warns, stay humble and be servants. 

1 Kings 15, 2 Chronicles 13-14, 1 Corinthians 3 10.08.2022

The divided kingdom, Israel in the north and Judah in the south, Judah had a few good kings there were none in the North.  Abijah prays for God's strength in war and God delivers them as miraculous acts.  One plants, one waters, God causes the growth.  Boast in God alone.  

1 Kings 13-14, 1 Corinthians 1 08.08.2022

Jeroboam drives northern Israel further from the Lord by worshiping idols with severe consequences at God's hand.  An old prophet fails to heed God's instruction and another accounts for his death.  Paul is called to preach the full gospel of Jesus to many including the prideful Corinthians. Boast in Christ Alone.   

1 Kings 12, Acts 19 07.08.2022

Foreign wives of Solomon led to worship of foreign gods, golden calves and only one tribe of Israel, Judah following after the house of David.  Paul reasons daily for Jesus Christ and healing and casting out demons in the name of Jesus, leading many men to fear the loss of power and financial gain by those who are turning to Jesus.
