The pronouncement of Judah's 70 years of captivity by Jeremiah caused the people to seek his death until priests recalled repetition of this by past prophets who weren't put to death for it.  Paul writes to the church reminding them not to go back to their former natures, behaving as they once had but to focus on being sealed, pure and spotless as new creations in Christ.  

The captivity into Babylon takes place and Jeremiah is still prophesying while false prophets are continuing to deny the devastation taking place in Judah.  The root of Jesse is the hope to come.  Paul explains the mystery of Jesus and the gentiles being grafted in, God hasd opened the door that all men might be welcomed in, not just the Jews.   

The failings of the governing authorities in Judah and the inevitable captivity that's coming with God saying that they will never return again to Judah or have a king sit on the throne of David.  We are made alive in Christ while even dead in our trespasses by the grace of God.  

The exile of Babylon is spoken to Pashur the priest by Jeremiah, who grieves at the unpopularity of the message God continually gives him to Prophecy, hence his being named the Weeping Prophet.   Pauls letter to the Ephesians is a clear picture of what God desires for us.

As God sends distresses and captivity upon all of Judah, He still grants to the Individuals who stay faithful to Him the ability to bear much fruit.  Paul, hearing of Philemon's love and faith asks that Onesimus, a run away slave he witnessed to be welcomed back as a brother in Christ after coming to faith on the behalf of Paul.

God warned Judah & Jerusalem yet they instead worshipped idols so God pronounces a judgement against them, as He still considers them his beloved.  Put on the new self, with a new heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience as those who are called of Him.  

Jeremiah, known as the weeping prophet, continues his lament over Judah and Jerusalem in that if only they would have repented all these things could be avoided.   All the hyper-spiritual people who were outwardly forbidding eating certain foods and touching things made by human hands for self advancement and show are destined to perish.   

A continuation of the prophecy of doom Jeremiah pronounced on Judah & Jerusalem for their failing to accept correction by God.  Paul's letter to the Colossians is one of the clearest teachings of the Trinity in all the Bible.    

WIth Jerusalem and Judah's godlessness, God calls for their destruction, but not completely as they hardened their hearts against Jeremiah's warning.  Paul arrives in Rome, explains why he's been brought, gives his testimony of faith and spends 2 years in custody freely preaching the Kingdom of God.  

The ongoing ministry of Jeremiah is to warn Judah to turn back from sin, using Israel and the mistakes and consequences it's met as an example, yet they do not learn and are taken into captivity in Babylon. 

Jeremiah is called as a prophet and given a commission for Judah and Israel.  First he addresses Judah and it's apostasy.  Paul is sent to Rome and is shipwrecked along the way.  

The near and far prophecy of Zephaniah is one of hope when Judah is on it's way down into captivity due to their defilement.  A remnant will remain faithful, speaking pure things of The Messiah, Jesus Christ with rejoicing.

God still brings about their downfall as the new kings and peoples hearts didn't turn from their idolatrous ways after Josiah's death resulting in the deportation to Babylon then beginning.  Paul makes his defense before Agrippa, giving his testimony of who he'd been previously and who he had become upon the heavenly visitation he had been charged with, the gospel of Jesus Christ... and on to Rome...

The reforms of good King Josiah, regaining control of all the north and south, clearing the entire land of cult places and practices after he read the Word found in the Temple of The Lord.  

Nineveh is destroyed completely for their rejection of God 130 years after Jonah saw them repent.  Josiah, good king of Judah has repairs done in the House of the Lord where the Law is found and humbles himself before God and goes to his grave in peace.  Paul stands trial before Festus and appeals to be seen before Caesar in Rome as God had instructed.  

Hezekiah builds a miraculous tunnel as Sennacherib invades Judah.  God is awesome in power, the victor of  all who come against Him.  Paul, brought before governor Felix is imporsoned for two years for shouting about the resurrection of the dead in the Temple of The Lord.  

Judah's good king Hezekiah is given 15 years of extended life by God when Isaiah told him that he was to die soon.  Following his reign two bad kings followed that abandoned God and worshipped idols.  The Lord instructed Paul that he was to now be the Lord's witness in Rome and was guarded from a plot to kill him by a group of Jews.  

The last two chapters of Isaiah have Israel going into captivity, the nations that conquer them will be judged and Jerusalem will be rebuilt.  Then the New Jerusalem of the Millennium will be as God had intended at the creation, with no sacrifices and God will call a remnant who will rejoice over Him Forever.

When Jesus began His ministry he opened up this chapter and verses of Isaiah 61:1-2 to proclaim Himself as The anointed of The Lord and closed the scroll.  Chapter 63 is what Jesus is going to say at His second coming in His anger and calling Israel to remember the days of old, return to Me.   Paul,  before the people of Jerusalem, presents his testimony of persecuting the people of the Way and th...

God gets the people the people of Zion to come to terms with their sin, lovingly reaching out to them by all means necessary.  Then in fullfillment of His word the Messiah is going to come to restore and be the light of the world from Zion, Jerusalem, where all the nations will come to bow before Him.  

God's ways and thoughts are not our ways and thoughts, and like rain His word will like rain cause growth.  There are rewards for obedience to God, as God freely offers mercy in the Messiah to the people of Israel who stay faithful.  Paul is seized from the temple upon pushing into Jerusalem and sharing that God's salvation message is for all men.  

The balance and harmony of the Old and New Testament are brought together.  For Israel a big rebuke and a glorious promise to eventually be reclaimed by God due to their rejecting Him.  Chapters 52 & 53 are pivotal chapters for understanding the entire bible as they link Jesus to both the Old and New Testament.  When God returns to claim their Jewish nation the second time He will be recognized an...

More of the near and far prophecy with Jesus being foretold.  God's salvation plan reaches to the ends of the earth.  God comfort His people and inscribed on the palms of His hands.   A powerful parting of Paul from Miletus, on his last missionary journey knowing that savage wolves of false teaches will come in after him.  He leaves to take money donated to the starving church in Jerusalem.  

Isaiah gives Hezekiah God's word of defeat for the Assyrians.  God calls Israel to cease striving and know I am God.  The people of Israel are praying for rescue.  Paul's closing greeting to all the different people groups naming them one by name.  

God's judgement and condemnation fall upon Babylon.  Thinking themselves unconquerable Cyrus fulfills the promise of deliverance by God to the Jews.
