The pronouncement of Judah's 70 years of captivity by Jeremiah caused the people to seek his death until priests recalled repetition of this by past prophets who weren't put to death for it. Paul writes to the church reminding them not to go back to their former natures, behaving as they once had but to focus on being sealed, pure and spotless as new creations in Christ.

The exile of Babylon is spoken to Pashur the priest by Jeremiah, who grieves at the unpopularity of the message God continually gives him to Prophecy, hence his being named the Weeping Prophet. Pauls letter to the Ephesians is a clear picture of what God desires for us.

As God sends distresses and captivity upon all of Judah, He still grants to the Individuals who stay faithful to Him the ability to bear much fruit. Paul, hearing of Philemon's love and faith asks that Onesimus, a run away slave he witnessed to be welcomed back as a brother in Christ after coming to faith on the behalf of Paul.

Jeremiah, known as the weeping prophet, continues his lament over Judah and Jerusalem in that if only they would have repented all these things could be avoided. All the hyper-spiritual people who were outwardly forbidding eating certain foods and touching things made by human hands for self advancement and show are destined to perish.

God still brings about their downfall as the new kings and peoples hearts didn't turn from their idolatrous ways after Josiah's death resulting in the deportation to Babylon then beginning. Paul makes his defense before Agrippa, giving his testimony of who he'd been previously and who he had become upon the heavenly visitation he had been charged with, the gospel of Jesus Christ... and on to Rome...

Nineveh is destroyed completely for their rejection of God 130 years after Jonah saw them repent. Josiah, good king of Judah has repairs done in the House of the Lord where the Law is found and humbles himself before God and goes to his grave in peace. Paul stands trial before Festus and appeals to be seen before Caesar in Rome as God had instructed.

Hezekiah builds a miraculous tunnel as Sennacherib invades Judah. God is awesome in power, the victor of all who come against Him. Paul, brought before governor Felix is imporsoned for two years for shouting about the resurrection of the dead in the Temple of The Lord.

Judah's good king Hezekiah is given 15 years of extended life by God when Isaiah told him that he was to die soon. Following his reign two bad kings followed that abandoned God and worshipped idols. The Lord instructed Paul that he was to now be the Lord's witness in Rome and was guarded from a plot to kill him by a group of Jews.

The last two chapters of Isaiah have Israel going into captivity, the nations that conquer them will be judged and Jerusalem will be rebuilt. Then the New Jerusalem of the Millennium will be as God had intended at the creation, with no sacrifices and God will call a remnant who will rejoice over Him Forever.

Then in fullfillment of His word the Messiah is going to come to restore and be the light of the world from Zion, Jerusalem, where all the nations will come to bow before Him.

God's ways and thoughts are not our ways and thoughts, and like rain His word will like rain cause growth. There are rewards for obedience to God, as God freely offers mercy in the Messiah to the people of Israel who stay faithful. Paul is seized from the temple upon pushing into Jerusalem and sharing that God's salvation message is for all men.

A powerful parting of Paul from Miletus, on his last missionary journey knowing that savage wolves of false teaches will come in after him. He leaves to take money donated to the starving church in Jerusalem.
