God gives a word through Ezekiel, the idolatrous elders are condemned and He is going to destroy both ends of Jerusalem like a worthless vine that's good for nothing, yet when all the desolation a remnant will be left. Jesus is the great high priest who offered up himself as the perfect sacrifice once for all time putting aside the former priesthood and sacrificial system under a new covenant.

False prophets deny Jerusalem's devastations saying it isn't until a far off day, so God speaks woes upon them for following their own spirits and they have seen nothing.  His hand is against them.  The dangers of falling away from faith are counted, instead we are to realize the full assurance of hope until the end to inherit the promises.

Jeremiah laments over the complete destruction of Israel and the horrors the people have succumbed to during the siege.  Peter encourages serving God eagerly, being faithful and not to give up as the devil prowls like a hungry lion seeking whom he may devour.

God's anger pours out over Israel and didn't spare anyone of complete devastation after the years of  Jeremiah's prophetic warnings are rejected.  Peter is saying the end of all things is near and we should be living unto Him in love and faithfulness, entrusting our souls to Him in doing what is right as we continue on in our walk.  

The destruction of Jerusalem begins with Nebuchadnezzar stripping the temple and destroying it along with carrying away the people of Judah to Babylon.  Jeremiah grieves as he is witnessing the destruction and Jerusalem and is powerlessness to do anything more about it.   Peter writes instructing to represent the godly life, in all ways be a living reflection of the new redeemed man in Christ.

Prophecy against Babylon is declared due to their arrogance against God and his people and for being a land obsessed with their many idols.  Peter shares the living hope of Jesus and the assurance of salvation of being born again imperishable through the living and enduring word of God with the churches that Paul had planted.  

Prophecy comes from Jeremiah against Moab, Edom, Ammon, Damascus, Cedar, Hazar and Elam that terror and horror will come as judgement against them for their part in coming against God's people.  Paul pours out how to live godly lives, being peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration, rejecting controversies and argumentative men.  

Jeremiah gives the prophecy that God's judgement will come upon Egypt and all those nations that come against Israel.  Also, those in Babylon should stay there and live until the 70 years of exile come to an end.  Paul gives instruction to Titus for the growth and conduct of both the church inside and among society looking toward the coming glory and hope of the Lord Jesus Christ. 

Jeremiah is accused of lying when he warns the remnant of Judah not to go to Egypt and worship other gods but instead they go and in so doing choose their own destruction.  Paul is training Timothy to guard against those who are tempted with knowledge, power, and age and become contentious and prideful.  Fight the good fight, strive for excellence, keep the faith as you minister.  

Jeremiah warns the remnant of Judah against going to Egypt as they will die there but to stay in Babylon and God will save them.  Paul writing Timothy for the benefit of the church, protecting the body with discipline, teaching how to care for one another and live in unity.  

Habakkuk looking out for the coming of the Chaldean's as the day of judgement for Judah is coming.  The enemies that pour out the judgement on Judah will fall under God's judgement.   Paul is writing to Timothy that some will fall away under false teaching, guard your teaching, hold fast to godliness.  God will restore the people as hinds feet on high places giving them strength.

Jerusalem is burned and plundered along with all the articles of the temple and the people being carried away to Babylon.  At the end of the 70 year captivity of Judah, King Cyrus of Persia, seeing his name written in prophecy by God's word, permits the return of God's people to Judah.  Paul writes to Timothy teaching about the truth of God in how the body of God's church are to act and function i...

Jeremiah undergoes more imprisonment and freeing as he delivered the words God gives him, to surrender to the Babylonians and live or refuse and be taken captive along with Jerusalem.  King Zedekiah is taken into exile and Jeremiah is spared.  Paul urges, rejoice and set your minds on things above.  Let His peace be with you as He provides for all your needs.  

Jeremiah, in faithfulness to the Lord's instruction, dictates a scroll to Baruch that is read in the temple and taken to the king, who throws it into the fire.  God has Jeremiah repeat the words to Baruch to replace the burned scroll.  Paul addresses goals in life, everything is counted as loss except for the surpassing love and knowledge of Christ Jesus. 

God has Jeremiah compare people of Judah to unfaithful servants and reminds them of all their past disobedience with Judah's destruction and captivity as the result to teach them.  Paul stresses to not do anything out of empty conceit or self serving but do all things to the glory of Christ Jesus.  Instead, the brethren are called to model Christ.  

As Jeremiah is imprisoned for prophesying of Judah's captivity, Judah is being taken captive.  God instructs him to buy a piece of land and promises restoration of the land, to have mercy on them and bring forth the Root of David, The Messiah, The King.  Paul is writing from the praetorian prison urging the entire Philippian church in love to stand as one body faithful to the gospel of Christ.  To...

Two great sections of near and far prophesy are told.  One, a promise of God that they will return into the land from their captivity where their mourning will turn to joy at the blessings on the land and a new covenant will be established.  

God has Jeremiah deliver a message to the exiles in Babylon to carry on with life there and of both near and far prophesy of Israel and Judah, but a false prophet speaks rebellion against this word of God and reaps God's wrath.    Paul teaches on familial conduct and to put on the full armor of God.  

Jeremiah warns by way of The Lord of Hosts that false prophets will prophesy Babylon will not take Judah captive.  Paul shares teachings on marriage and calls on the church to be imitators of Christ, with God in the middle of our marriages honoring the Godly covenant.
