Chris encouraged us as we take on 2020 and think about what God is calling us to and what we are pledging to him, that we see it through. Consider these points that Chris gives us as we persevere and remain committed to God.

Inevitably we all come to 'forks' in the road where we have to make a choice. Pastor Graham unpacked Matthew 7:13-14 where Jesus instructs us to choose the narrow gate that leads to life with Him!

There are 3652 days in this next decade! Over the next 10 years, we want to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). The steps to developing a Christlike character start with dying to self, continuing in the sanctification process and making small steps to create big change.

For the first sermon of the decade, Andy encouraged us with Matthew 11:28-30. To be fresh for God, we need to give him our burdens and take time in his presence.

In the final message for 2019, Pastor Chris challenged us to take a stocktake of our lives in the areas of Time, Money, Work, Relationships, & Family. Is Jesus the centre of each of these areas of our lives? Merry Christmas for 2019! Cass encouraged around the thought that everyone has a seat at the table that has been prepared by God. When we sit at the family table on Christmas Day, let's be thankful that He has a place for each one of us at HIS table!

In the final message from our Jesus Is: series, Kris Nelson shared with us about reason Jesus was called 'Mighty God' in Isaiah 9:6. The Christmas story is about our Mighty God, and is as relevant to us today as it has ever been. Communion presented by Julia Rizzuto.

In Hebrew culture, it was custom to call a father for the quality of that which he was known. Jesus was the Father of Eternity. His reign does not end. He is eternal in every way. When we are born again, we are born into eternity and receive eternal life with Jesus - the Everlasting Father.

Jesus is our Wonderful Counsellor. That is one of His attributes! Proverbs says you are wise if you seek godly counsel. In Matthew 6, Jesus says “Seek first the Kingdom of God”. Biblically we know that Jesus must be our first counsellor for godly wisdom and guidance. Jesus communicates to God on our behalf and He will counsel and advise us how to have life abundantly.

In Part 2 of Chris’s message, he continues to unpack the process we sometimes go through when we put our faith in God. Peter didn’t wait for the wind to cease before he stepped out in faith. He stepped out in the storm! What is God calling you to today?

We heard testimonies from a few of our young adults at LMC! Jacken, Emily, Andrew & Christy shared how God has been faithful and constant in their lives. Jesus is our treasure, the ultimate designer, the orchestrator (and match maker!), our burden lifter and author for life. God is the one who writes our stories and we give him all the glory!

Matt looked at the life of Jacob to unpack how we form our identity. The world may say you are your mistakes, what you feel and what others say about you, but Jesus says you are who he created you to be. Follow his truth and his voice and you will find your identity in Christ.

Nic spoke on The Rich Young Ruler (Mark 10) who values treasures and wealth more than a relationship with the Messiah. Jesus is enough for us when we trust him in all things and put our confidence in him. When we treasure Jesus and fix our eyes on him, we will find that he is truly all we need. Living a life of faith is not easy. Faith can be spelt R-I-S-K. Jesus calls us to listen and obey His voice so that it may be well with us. Are we being directed each day by His voice, or do we follow our own agenda? It isn’t always convenient when God calls us to walk on the water, but rest assured that the Holy Spirit is with you.

Jesus was counter cultural - especially when it came to forgiveness. Through Jesus, we have been forgiven and now we are called to forgive others (Mt6:14-15). We need to make sure we overcome unforgiveness before unforgiveness overcomes us.

Jesus does not belong in a box! We cannot limit God. Often we can put God in a box when we don’t see Him do what we asked Him to do. Satan tried to put Jesus in a box - in a grave, but Jesus broke out of that box! The box we try to put Jesus in often becomes our caskets. So let the truth of who God says He is in His word reign in your heart today.

When we tie our joy to our circumstances, sometimes it can be ripped away pretty quickly. Instant joy can be taken away instantly. True joy, joy from God comes even in unlikely circumstances. James says ‘Consider it pure JOY when you face trials’. Hebrews says ‘for the JOY set before him [Jesus] endured the cross’. Joy comes when we fix our focus on Christ in all circumstances.

Jesus was moved with compassion. His compassion for people wasn’t restricted just to Christians and insiders. It extended to everyone. When Jesus ascended to heaven and left us with the gift of the Holy Spirit, this was an act of compassion! That we may ALL reach people with the love of God.

As Jesus is, so are we in this world. Jesus is the light of this world. He continually casts light into darkness in our lives and in world. We are children of light and are called to BE light in the world!

Andy Hunt will be the newly appointed Lead Pastor of LMC as of 2020. Andy shares his response to Graham’s message (Jesus Is: Lord) and shares his testimony of how God has been faithful in his life. He reminds us that above all, Jesus is our calling in life. We are called to relationship with God, to consecrate our lives (be set apart and holy) and to serve. Ps Graham announced that Andrew Hunt will be the new Lead Pastor of Life Ministry Church as of January 2020! Graham encouraged us prior to this announcement to make Jesus the Lord of our lives. There can be a number of reasons why we don’t obey our Lord Jesus. He said: “Why do you call me lord lord and not do what I tell you?” We cannot say we are close with Jesus, but fail to obey his commands. O...

Is Jesus your everything? Is Jesus your sustainer in all things? Mike challenged us with a powerful message on everything Jesus is and can be in our lives. Jesus revolutionised our relationship with God and desires for us to make him our everything.

Nic used the story of Jonah to illustrate 5 points of God’s grace. God’s grace chases us, it paid the price for us, it is patient with us, it changes us and has compassion for us. We can respond to God’s grace through repentance and allow Him to change us and make us more compassionate for His people.

Frontline Youth is the youth ministry of Life Ministry Church. At this service, we had 3 people get baptised! Matt Burt encouraged us with our testimony. Our testimony brings life, it is a weapon against the enemy and a tool to serve others. Our greatest struggle can be our greatest opportunity for God’s testimony!
