Job 38-39 Such a beautiful description of God’s power in creation! This is a favorite of mine. It humbles me to recognize the vast knowledge and understanding of God.

Job 35-37 Who can put a stop to everything and keep us all from accomplishing anything? God’s majesty and power are made known to us through weather. God alone controls the sun, moon, clouds, lightning, snow, rain, etc. and it is beyond our understanding.

Elihu, the youngest of Job’s friends, finally speaks and rebukes Job.

Job 29-31 is very interesting, with clear and vivid distinctions between Job’s former life and current misery, three separate categories of potential sin, longing to be in God’s presence, and again declaring his innocence.

From the beginning, we have not seen justice on earth. Wrongdoers are not charged or punished. We seek wisdom and no person or animal on earth can find it, but God alone knows where it is. The fear of the Lord is wisdom. It cannot be bought or found except through the fear of the Lord.

Job 21-23 Does God always reward the righteous with prosperity? Does the level of our faith determine how easy our life will be? Do the wicked receive the punishment they deserve? In this passage, we find truth that coincides with John 16:33, Psalm 37:4, Matthew 5:45, and Philippians 4:7.

Our oldest son graduated from college in May and has recently moved away from close friends. When you find a friend who understands who you really are, you build a lifelong friendship that will last despite distance or time. In this episode we consider how we can help our kids learn to recognize the traits of a good friend and develop positive lifelong relationships.
