Two Grass Valley caretakers were arrested and charged with financial elder abuse, conspiracy to commit crime, and forgery, after stealing a combined $35,000 from their elderly and disabled clients.

On Tuesday, January 30th, the League of Women Voters of Nevada County organized a candidate forum for California's District 1 State Assembly race. The participating candidates were Tenessa Audette, Melissa Hunt and Mark Mezzano. Heather Hadwick was unavailable. 

Nevada County will install a new odor-control mechanism at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Highway 20 in April. 

At around 5 PM last Thursday, at Heavenly Ski Resort, a woman boarded a lift gondola intending to ride down the mountain but the lift stopped just minutes later, while she was still in the sky. Nevada County Sheriff’s Office deputies, with agents from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, visited four Nevada County ski resorts this month. The Nevada County Elections office says that registered voters should expect two Voter Information Guides to arrive by mail any day now.
