Jesus made some pretty strong claims for the effectiveness of prayer, yet many of us have experienced disappointment when we have earnestly prayed. How do we handle that in a way that helps us continue to pray? 

Why is it important to keep going as a follower of Jesus? Can’t we just bank all the benefits he promises to us, and then simply get on with our lives as before?  

Life and being a Christian isn't always easy. What does Jesus' teaching about the 'Vine & Branches' tell us that will really help us fulfil our purpose in life?

Feelings of guilt and regret of past failures can choke any peace and joy from our hearts. We look 12 things God has done with our sin so that we can walk in freedom and be with Him forever.

As we come to the end of Peter's letter, we hear the heart of his message for anyone who is finding it hard being a Christian. There's both a challenge and comforting reassurance from God.

This morning we welcomed Andy Johnston from our wider Catalyst network of churches to speak to us about what was at the heart of the mission of Jesus and the freedom he gives. 

With a growing crisis of leadership evident in the West, now more than ever we need a different, better way of leading.  The Bible’s teaching on church leaders gives us a fundamentally different approach, although it’s not without its own problems and challenges. 

Living differently and doing good as a Christian doesn't always seem to come naturally. We can feel more like doing nothing at all or the urge to do the very opposite. What should we do if we find it hard?

‘Why do bad things happen to good people?’ is a common objection to the Christian Faith.  Unexpectedly, rather than avoiding this problem, the Bible actually tells us that it is something that points people towards faith in God.

Some of the things that Christians believe and do seem backwards, strange, and even harmful.  There is real pressure in these areas to try to fit in with everyone else. The irony is that sometimes these differences can also be very appealing. 

When life is tough or we are under pressure, we might release that the things we depend on are not really enough. Listen to what Peter wrote to Christians under pressure, about the reliable foundation we can all have in our lives. 

To ‘be holy’ means very different things to lots of different people. It covers everything from harsh, judgemental religiousness to other-worldly spirituality, often with a strait-laced seriousness that’s not much fun. What does it actually mean, and why would anyone want to ‘be holy’? 

Why should Christians live so differently to other people in our culture? What is it about us that seems so out of step with everybody else? Maybe it’s because we really don’t fit in anymore…

There's a lot that can make us anxious in life, and in the world around us. Listen to these words of Jesus that speak to troubled hearts.

The Bible assures us that God works for good in all the circumstances that Christians face, but can often be difficult to see this. Today we look at the encouragment that God wants to comfort us in our suffering but also how he can use it for good in the lives of others

Many things can shake us in life, not least when things and people we relied on are taken away. How can we stand firm in these times and not give in to fear? 

Forgiving other people is a tough one and we might even think that some things are unforgiveable. Let's listen to a story Jesus told to teach about forgiveness, that points us to the motivation and power we need to forgive.

It is often so easy to get consumed with the 'meaningless' things of this world. The book of Ecclesiastes helps us to gain a healthy perspective on life's trivial things, to encourage us to refocus our attentions onto the meaningful things that God calls us to live for.

Looking at God's powerful calling for our lives and how much we need one another to grow as Church family.

Having good friends is great blessing to some of us, but for others friendship is a source of pain or disappointment. Some of us have a choice of friends and others frequently feel lonely. What does the Bible say about friendship, how we can be a good friend and what about the best friend of all?
