Many people today point to the Bible’s apparent approval of slavery as evidence that it cannot be trusted as a guide to morality. Many Christians are deeply troubled by the way their scriptures appears to support this evil, exploitative abuse of other humans. Is there a credible way through this problem?

Everyone wants happy, healthy relationships with the ones they love. But so often tensions develop, emotions get strained, arguments erupt, and things break down. Why are families so hard, and what can we do to help them to flourish and thrive?

In this letter to the Colossians, we've seen that they're ways of acting and speaking that just not appropriate or fitting for those of us who have trusted in Jesus. We're to take them off like dirty old clothes. What do we put on instead and how do we do this?

This Sunday we begin chapter 3 of the book of Colossians, and this is a high point in Paul’s letter. He encourages believers to ‘Set their heart on things above’ in the everyday. Why? …… because Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ has ascended and Christ will come again. It’s All about Jesus!

We live in a world where countless different ideas and beliefs offer us a multitude of ways to become exactly what we want to be. Is the Christian faith just another route to self-fulfilment or does it have something unique to offer?

Running the race of life as a Christian can be challenging and will often require perseverance. Hebrews 12:1-3 encourages us to keep running with our eyes fixed on Jesus.

At Easter Christians all over the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. But is it really such a big deal? To many people it seems impossible, so why don’t we just focus on his teaching instead? 

The widespread idea that Jesus was simply a great religious teacher is so wildly at odds with how the first Christians thought of him as to be laughable.  The real significance of his rescue mission is so vast that it is almost impossible to imagine.

Jesus is widely admired as a great moral teacher, but the Bible makes claims about his true identity that, if true, make it impossible to see him as just another great religious teacher. Who was he really, and what does that mean for us?
