Psalms 137 addresses the Israelites captive in Babylon. 1 Corinthians 5 apostle Paul addresses sexual immorality, greed, idolatry and slander among the church people.

2 Samuel 1-2, Psalms 136, 1 Corinthians 4 King Saul is dead and David becomes king of Judah. However son of king Saul, Ish-Bosheth, is made king of all of Israel. 1 Samuel 18-19, Psalms 129, Romans 13 Huge twist in the saga as King Saul is filled with jealousy of David’s popularity that he is determined to kill David. Romans 13 is a MUST READ!!! This chapter discusses government, love, end times, law, taxes and so much more.

1 Samuel 17, Psalms 128, Romans 12 If you have never read the actual story of David and Goliath now is the time in 1 Samuel 17. Psalms 128 is a passage about how to receive abundance in blessings. Romans 12 is SO GOOD!! You have to go back and read for yourself. It’s about the mind, love, true nature, talents, purpose, zeal, conflict and vengeance.

1 Samuel 15-16, Psalms 127, Romans 11 The spirit of God leaves King Saul because of his disobedience and arrogance. Psalms 127 describes our rewards for following Him. Romans 11 is a conversation with the Gentiles about the people of Israel.

Psalms 126 is a short passage that explains that with Christ joy always comes after difficult times. 1 Samuel 13-14 Saul has good intention but still doesn’t understand how to be fully dependent on God’s direction.

1 Samuel 11-12,Psalms 125,Romans 9 Saul has his first victory which causes all the Israelites to submit to his authority. Romans 9 Paul uses a classic persuasion technique of posing questions that he knows the people will think. Psalms 125 is a beautiful prayer of trust.

1 Samuel 9-10,Psalms 124, Romans 8 Romans 8 is such a powerhouse chapter that I urge to go and read it to understand how the Spirit works and how we are actually children of God. In 1 Samuel 9-10 Saul finds out that he will be king.

1 Samuel 7-8, Psalms 123, Romans 7 Romans 7 is sooooo good! Paul explains how we need to guard our mind. Psalms 123 is a nice and short prayer asking God for His mercy. In 1 Samuel 7-8 the Israelites submit to God again and then defeat the Philistines. The Israelites tell Samuel that they want a king to rule over them.

1 Samuel 5-6, Psalms 122, Romans 6 The Philistines had stolen the ark of covenant and now everyone in their town is getting sick with tumors. Psalms 122 is a prayer of blessing. Romans 6 Paul explains the benefits of being obedient to God vs being obedient to sin.

1 Samuel 3-4, Psalms 121, Romans 5 God speaks to Samuel and people are starting to notice that God is with Samuel. Psalms 121 is a prayer and song of protection. Romans 5 Paul departs his wisdom about peace and hope.

1 Samuel 1-2, Psalms 120, Romans 4 Romans 4 Paul continues to explain that salvation is for Jews and gentiles through faith not works (legalism). Psalms 120 is a song of the writers true heart. In 1 Samuel 1-2 the story of Samuel begins.

Ruth, Psalms 119:89-176, Romans 3 Ruth is a story of the lives of good people during the corrupt time of the judges. It is important because it shows blood line of David. Psalms 119 second half is a heartfelt prayer. Romans 3 Paul explains salvation through Jesus is for jews and gentiles.

Judges 20-21, Psalms 119:1-88, Romans 2 In Romans 2 Paul teaches the people about accountability. Psalms 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. We finally read the last 2 chapters of Judges!! The stories of Judges are dark but show us what happens when a people fall away from God’s ways.

Judges 18-19, Psalms 118, Romans 1 Judges 18-19 could be one of the ugliest stories in the whole Bible but that story makes us feel the corruption of the time.
