I want to quit playing piano when I go to college in the fall, but my parents will say I'm a quitter. Is that true? 09.07.2026 2:10
Is quitting inherently bad? No. So, why do we think it is? What if quitting is one of the most valuable underrated life skills that no one talks about?
How do I get my husband to help me around the house? I'm drowning and he gets annoyed when I ask for help. 08.07.2026 2:59
In any partnership relationship, the household work is never evenly divided but that doesn't mean a never ending 80/20 split is normal. It should fluctuate the way life does so sometimes one person carries a larger load before it switches. If it never switches, that's a pretty big problem.
I broke up with my girlfriend twice but now I know she's the one for me. How can I get her back? 07.07.2026 3:03
Regaining trust after a breakup is tough. After a second time it's much harder. She's going to say, 'why should I believe you now when I've heard all of this before?'
My wife wants to spend thousands on a fancy washer & dryer because her friends all have something similar. How do I convince her this is nuts?! 12.06.2026 3:27
These appliances have gotten very sophisticated over the years and when you go looking it's easy to get sucked into the "clearly we need this" mindset. But really all that's needed is a new washer & dryer and not the most expensive. And there is a way to keep that top of mind as your weighing the options.
I really don't like meeting new people. I feel awkward and like I don't know what to say so is there a trick to making it easier? 05.06.2026 3:45
Social skills are really like any other skill you learn in life; they just might feel harder to master than others. But anyone can do it. Would you feel encouraged if I told you all it takes is time and practice?
My boyfriend and I just broke up and next month we were planning to go on vacation together. He says I should pay him the cost of the non-refundable airfare because I chose the destination. Is that reasonable? 03.06.2026 3:43
An unexpected break up catches everyone off guard and we are typically not at our best in these moments. Not everyone is flexible and adaptable (which is why these skills are so coveted in the workforce!). So sorting out what's actually fair in this scenario is likely to take more time than it should.
We're expecting our first baby so we told our parents and swore them to secrecy. But my mother-in-law told the whole family. Is it okay to get mad at her for this? 01.06.2026 2:48
It's a terrible feeling when someone betrays your trust by capriciously sharing a major secret. Being a good secret keeper is a skill that way too many people have not mastered. So when it happens to you, the only thing you can control in the aftermath is how you choose to react.
My husband doesn't want to go on vacation because he's nervous about his job. But we really need a break so how do I convice him? 29.05.2026 2:51
We are hearing about lots of layoffs in the news these days and feeling like you're walking on eggshells at work really sucks. Do you plan for the worst and hope for the best? It feels better than going into that worry thought loop every single day.
My sister & her husband are bad with money and always asking me for a loan. How can I put a stop to this without sounding harsh? 21.05.2026 4:04
Saving and losing weight have one thing in common. They both require discipline and while you probably had a health class in high school, I bet you didn't have a money class. It's kind of shocking schools don't teach students how to budget income to pay bills and also save. But it's never too late to learn.
I'm a nervous wreck during job interviews. What's the secret to beating this kind of anxiety? 20.05.2026 3:38
Being nervous in an interview is a good thing because it shows the meeting is important to you. But you don't want that nervous energy to take over and impede your ability to represent yourself well. There's more than one thing you can do to help feel more relaxed. The key is finding the mix of things that work best for you.
When I make plans with my friend she almost always invites someone else without asking me. I'm so annoyed but this but how do I tell her without sounding needy? 19.05.2026 3:02
We've all got at least one friend who does this and it's just rude behavior. Didn't their parents teach them this?! Unless the person she's bringing is a surprise for you that she's knows for a fact will thrill you, it's unacceptable.
My friend got a rescue over a year ago & he's precious but completely untrained so it's impossible to have a conversation around him. I want to tell her how annoying this is but don't want to make her feel bad. 13.05.2026 2:39
Pets are the best and dogs in particular are amazing, in my opinion. I love cats, too, just not the litter box. And if you're not prepared to train an animal you should not own one. You get out of the experience what you put into it and at the start, you've got to put in a lot of energy and effort.
I got a call from a recruiter from a company I've always wanted to work for but my organization just sent me to an expensive training. Should I even explore this? 01.05.2026 2:32
Companies should be investing in developing their employees and it doesn't happen often enough. So when it does, people might feel like they need to show their appreciation in ways beyond just doing their very best work. A good question to ask yourself is this: where have I seen loyalty to a corporation really benefit an employee?
I'm hating my job so much right now I wish I could just quit, but I can't. Is there anything I can do to make it more tolerable? 30.04.2026 3:11
Needing a job you don't want to go to everyday is a super tough spot to be in and finding a new job never seems to happen fast enough! But there are some things you can do to affect your mindset and they're not woo-woo; they're real action steps.
My in-laws Like to come over whenever they feel like it. I've asked them to call first but it hasn't helped. How do I get through to them? 29.04.2026 2:32
If you have difficult to manage in-laws, it can really test your relationship. But plenty of people have them and figure out ways to deal with them in a way that doesn't get everyone in a kerfuffle. They may think it's okay for them to pop on over whenever they want, but it's not. It's actually quite rude.
A friend moved into her boyfriend's condo. He owns it and I tried to tell her that could put her in a jam if/when they break up and she ignored me. How can I get her to listen? 23.04.2026 3:33
People get so excited to live together, they often don't stop to consider what's involved if it doesn't work out. They've never had a relationship where they did NOT break up and they still don't ask themselves this question. The assumption is being unmarried makes everything else easier and in reality it doesn't.
I made a new friend this year which is great, but she's already talking about taking trips together. How do I slow her roll but in a nice way? 21.04.2026 2:56
The new friendship stage can feel kind of fragile. Especially if it's been a while since you've welcomed someone new into your social circle. It also takes a good amount of time before you know if someone will be a good travel companion. And is there anything worse than being in a fabulous place with someone who's making you miserable?
I want to go to my boyfriend's family reunion this summer. We're together 2 years now and we're serious so how do I tell him it's time? 20.04.2026 2:55
The first thing this question makes me think of is 'be careful what you wish for.' Getting to know someone's family is a critical factor in deciding if you want him to be your life partner but there's another question to consider here --- how soon is too soon?
My friend loses herself in every relationship. Suddenly his favorite activities become hers, they go out with his friends and she stays at his place. It's painful to watch so how can I help her? 13.04.2026 3:22
This is a hard thing to witness -- to watch a friend almost become someone else every time she steps into a relationship. But are a few things you can try to help her see what she may not even realize what's going on.
A friend expressed doubts about getting married while we were addressing her wedding invitations and ended our conversation saying she'll just get divorced if it doesn't work out. Should I reopen the dialogue & encourage her to break it off? 06.03.2026 3:31
It's normal to feel a some anxiety about a big decision like getting married. It means lots of big changes in your life and nobody wants to be careless about it. So how do you know if its "cold feet" or something more significant?
I just found out the guy I've been seeing a bad credit score. Should I break it off now before it gets too serious? 04.03.2026 3:05
People hate to talk about money and yet it's so central to every partnership relationship. It's good to uncover a red flag early, as long as it's a REAL red flag.
My brother is engaged to a woman who does not fit in with the family & she's just not right for him. Should we stage an intervention to tell him how we feel? 03.03.2026 3:17
When you can clearly see the sibling you know so well is about to make a big mistake it's natural to want to intervene and spare him the pain and agony you know he'll experience in the future. But does that mean it's the right thing to do?
My mom always said she'd help me when I had kids, but it's 3 kids later and she's M.I.A. What's the best way to remind her of how she said she would help? 02.03.2026 2:29
Howie Mandel once told me that if he'd known how fun it was to have grandchildren, he would've done that first. Perhaps not all grandparents are keen to be that involved with your kids and there's only one way to find out.
I really want to change careers but I'm 35 years old already. Is it too late? 27.02.2026 3:28
Aren't we always looking for the perfect timing to do something? I bet you can put a lot of thought into strategizing the ideal scenario before you begin something. Because if we can just get that part right everything will be easier. But what if the ideal timing is already gone. Should you just give up?
My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and he wants me to buy a house in the country with my inheritance money and he will do the maintenance. I said no and now he’s acting like he’s too busy to spend time with me. What should I do? 23.02.2026 3:23
Relationships are always going to be about compromise and not everyone is naturally good at that. It takes a mature, emotionally developed person to be good at compromise. So, if he hasn't learned it by now, is it even possible?
