Jesus is Real Radio with Daniel Fusco

As you listen to the details and instructions given to the Israelites about how to build the tabernacle…you may wonder why…what does it all mean? Pastor Daniel will answer that question today as he explains God’s communication to His people and His Word…and we’ll come to see that it all points to Jesus. The intricacy, the design…all focuses on the Savior.

When your relationship with the Creator begins, so does everything else about your life. Your heart is now a sacred space, and as believers we have to care for it according to the Father’s teaching. As Pastor Daniel teaches about the Israelites after their exodus from Egypt, we’ll find that their relationship with Him changes…and He teaches them how to do that.

Today, you’ll hear Pastor Daniel teach about the children of Israel crossing the Red Sea to escape from Egypt. A total miracle. But more than save lives, what God did that day was the beginning of something even greater. The people saw, feared, and believed. When God speaks to you, you have to hear Him. Only then, can you believe and see His hand as He works in your life.

As a baby, you have very specific needs, and your parents address them accordingly. As an adult, you have a very different relationship with them. You’ve matured…you don’t need them as much. As Pastor Daniel described what the children of Israel were going through in the desert, we’ll see that they needed a lot of encouragement…and as their loving Father, God gave it to them.

If you’ve ever heard the expression, ‘the writing’s on the wall,’ you probably didn’t look over at the wall to read what was there. Because it wasn’t meant to be literal. Today, Pastor Daniel will explain how some of God’s commands were taken so literally by the people of Israel, that they missed the deeper message. It’s easy to take things at face value…harder to let them change you.

As Pastor Daniel speaks about the mixed multitudes during the exodus from Egypt, you’ll recognize God’s intention for EVERYONE…to be their God, and for them to be His people. His desire hasn’t changed, but there’s a danger in living in community with people who aren’t on the same page in their faith. We’ll consider how to avoid this messy situation, while still ministering to others.

When you know you have a test in school, you study for it. If you have a race tomorrow, you don’t gorge on ice cream and soda. You know you’ll be accountable for your grade on the test, for your performance in the race. Today, Pastor Daniel will explain how we can overcome temptations and sin by simply telling our brothers and sisters…to ask how you’re doing, and encourage you.

We have all saddled ourselves with such a debt of sin that we can’t ever repay it. But God has given us a way out. Like the children of Israel who escaped the final judgment of Egypt with lamb’s blood on a doorpost, we have an escape from our sin in Jesus. As Pastor Daniel teaches today, we’ll hear that the children of Israel escaped a penalty of death…and so can you.

When the children of Israel escaped enslavement in Egypt, God was giving them a new start. Freed from hundreds of years of oppression…the new path was light and unburdened. That’s exactly what you experience when you throw off your old life and begin again in Jesus. As Daniel tells the story of those final days in Egypt, we’ll follow God’s people from darkness to light.

In Egypt, Pharaoh asks the Children of God to compromise, over and over again. For us, we compromise all the time, giving most of ourselves to the Lord, but leaving some parts with the world. As Pastor Daniel reveals more about the plagues of Egypt, we’ll consider the investments we’re making towards His kingdom, and what we’re putting into the world. We have to serve with EVERY part of our lives.

Do you have a story of faith? Maybe you’ve been a believer for a long time, or perhaps you’re in the beginning of a relationship with God. Whatever the case, all those stories are worth telling. God tells Moses to share the stories of the Hebrews experience in Egypt with the generations to come…as we’ll continue to hear, it’s a testimony of adversity, hope and redemption.

God’s commands to us provide safety, a sort of spiritual security net. When we ignore them, or defy them…we can suffer. That’s exactly what happens with Pharaoh and the people who choose to ignore God’s warning about the coming plagues. But those who listen, who hear and are obedient, they remain protected. Not only will He protect you, but the Father will bless you as well.

Many people have heard the account of the plagues in Egypt. You may think you know the stories, but there are so many layers in the Bible, and it’s our tendency to stop too soon…when we haven’t hit on what God has to say to us. Today, Pastor Daniel will encourage us to go all the way. It can be a journey of uncertainty, but God is a deep well of knowledge and wisdom.

It’s worth considering, that living in this contemporary culture dramatically impacts how we view God. If you’ve formed a picture of God based on what you know about the world, you are getting a distorted image. We’ll find that, as Pastor Daniel takes us through the plagues in Egypt, a fresh perspective will help us understand what was going on between God, Pharaoh, and the Hebrew people.

False repentance. When you are sorry for what you’ve done, until you’re off the hook. That’s what Pharaoh does after asking Moses to tell God to remove the rotting frogs from Egypt. As Pastor Daniel will say, when we pause in obedience…often we never get around to it. Today we’ll find out why we can’t wait until tomorrow, and in fact we need a sense of urgency for God’s intervention.

IF you’re not sure that you want to follow God’s instructions, whatever they are…then don’t pray. Today, Pastor Daniel will exhort us to pray, and to pray specifically. In fervent prayer, God will use us…and we can change the world. But, we have to be available, because there’s a lot of work to do. Listen as Moses follows God’s commands, even when it’s difficult.

If you look at each plague that God brought through Moses to Egypt…the punishment for Pharaoh’s hard heartedness could seem harsh. But when you look at all of them together, we see that God was bringing lesser plagues, hoping for Pharaoh to release His people. As Pastor Daniel will teach, God works in the same way with us…hoping for repentance before judgment.

God wants you to know who He is. As we’ll hear in today’s message, God went to great lengths to show the people in Egypt who He is...through the miraculous. We love signs. Because of our need to know the outcome of events in our lives, it can be tempting to latch onto signs that give us hope. But God wants us to cling to Him, not the miracles...the message that they bring.

When you think of Moses and God’s deliverance...it’s all about God taking His people out of Egypt...freedom from slavery. As a believer, God delivers you as well. He can liberate you from selfishness, anger, pride...all of those things that keep you from becoming the person that He created you to be. Today, Pastor Daniel will explore what it means for God to deliver us...not into perfection, but r...

When Moses assured the people that God would lead them out of Egypt, those that believed him might have pictured a quick resolution…with the people just walking out. But, God’s deliverance wasn’t a snap of the finger. As Pastor Daniel will teach today, we grow during the process, and He changes us to be the people He wants us to be…the image of Jesus.

If someone told you that you were diminishing who God is, you’d probably take offense…but it’s actually a very common thing to do. We want His love, but not His justice. As you’ll hear today, God is who He is…regardless of what we want. In this teaching, Moses is still battling Pharaoh for the freedom of God’s people…but Moses will find he’s failing in another area of his life.

Imagine what Moses accomplished during his lifetime. If you know anything about the man, you know that through a series of supernatural events, he led God’s people out of Egypt. That’s an intimidating testimony. But, it wasn’t Moses at all...it was God. Moses felt just as inadequate as we do when God calls us to something. Pastor Daniel will tell us how we can step out in faith.

The fear of our past, dragging all our previous transgressions around...that can really mess us up when God calls us to do something for Him. We’ll see that with Moses today, and Pastor Daniel will also share about his own fear and doubts when he was first called to the ministry. There’s a beautiful hope and assurance to be found, though, and it’s in the strength and faithfulness of God.

As people, we desire certainty. We want to know what the outcome is going to be before going through the process...and that can create a lot of uncertainty and fear. But, as Pastor Daniel assures us in today’s message, God is offering us faithfulness... a promise that He’ll be there for us through our feelings of inadequacy.
