Luke 3:1-22 / Kam Pugh Temporarily jumping over the rest of Luke 1 and 2 to pick back up during Advent, we turn our attention to John the Baptist, an unlikely subject of religious text who prophesied about Jesus before He began His earthly ministry. Following John’s example, we should preach the good news of Jesus, not afraid to address the issues of the day and speak the hard truth.

Luke 1:1-4 / Kam Pugh Kicking off our study of the gospel according to Luke, Kam gives an introduction and sets the context for the book. The sermon answers 4 key questions: who wrote this, how was it written, what is it about, and why was it written?

1 Corinthians 5; 6:9-20 / Kam Pugh In the second sermon in a series on identity, Kam points to Paul’s warnings against sexual sin in his letter to the Corinthian church. We should flee from sexual temptation as Christians, instead pursuing a lifestyle of purity and holiness through Christ.

1 Corinthians 1 / Kam Pugh Kam kicks off our Identity sermon series by pointing us to our true identity in Christ. We, like the Corinthian church, are prone to find our identity in so many other ways, but we must remember our primary identity as saints, redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

Luke 18:1-8 / Isaac Adams Pastoral candidate Isaac Adams exhorts the body to remain in prayer, following the example of the persistent widow in Jesus’ parable. The unrighteous judge eventually answered her cry, and even more will the Lord answer the cries of His people.

1 Peter 5:1-11 Dustin reminds the body of the role and responsibilities of elders. As Iron City is in a season of potentially adding to the eldership, we must take seriously the calling of elders and learn how to practically apply the principles prescribed in the Bible to the specific vision of Iron City Church.

Psalm 2 / Dustin Ratcliff Dustin concludes our summer in the Psalms by pointing us directly to King Jesus. The Psalms, the book of songs that God’s people have worshipped with for millennia, references the Son of God specifically here. We should submit to and worship King Jesus that we may be raised to new life with Him.

Psalm 103 / Justin Allen Iron City elder Justin Allen takes the congregation through Psalm 103, encouraging the church to remember the Gospel daily and praise God in response.

Psalm 61 / Justin Carter Elder Justin Carter reminds us that God is near to His people and answers their prayers. He is our rock and our refuge. We should run to Him to meet our needs and then live in constant praise in response.

Psalm 104 / Dustin Ratcliff Dustin invites us to meditate on the majesty of God through His incredible creation and worship Him because of how He has revealed Himself to us through what He has done.

Psalm 34 / Aaron Jaillet Elder Aaron Jaillet shares from his own life and through David’s life, reminding Christians that we must seek the Lord through our trials. The Lord is near to us even when we aren’t aware of His presence.

Psalm 145 / Dustin Ratcliff Dustin continues our Summer in the Psalms by preaching through a Psalm of praise, reminding us of God’s incredible goodness and perfect love for us, calling us to return praise to Him because of His character.

Psalm 63 / Demetrius Hicks Demetrius points out David’s intense awareness of his need for God, and that David runs to God in his times of trouble. What do we run to? Where do we find our hope?

Psalm 100 / Dustin Ratcliff Kicking off our Summer in the Psalms, Dustin reminds us with Psalm 100 that we worship God for who He is and for what He has done for us.

John 11:1-44 / Demetrius Hicks Concluding the series on mental and emotional health, Demetrius reminds us that Jesus knows grief and weeps with us. Though God’s answers are not always the ones we desire, He is always working in ways that are better than we can imagine.

1 Kings 19:1-18 / Dustin Ratcliff Dustin reminds us that God is near to us even when we are battling depression and points out some ways that we can holistically change our lives in ways that can improve our mental health and better help our brothers and sisters who are struggling with depression.

Mark 4:35-41 / Demetrius Hicks Pastor Demetrius preaches a practical message about how Christians should interact with fear and anxiety. We should not merely dismiss these experiences as invalid or unimportant, but should invite Jesus into them and help our friends walk through them.

1 Peter 5:5b-7 / Kam Pugh Concluding the series on how we as the body of Christ should treat one another, Kam exhorts us to be humble toward one another. As we submit humbly to the Lord and before each other, He will protect us and free us from striving to bear our own burdens and meet our own needs.

Ephesians 4:25-32 / Kam Pugh One of the hardest things in the world for us to do is to truly forgive those who have wronged us, but that is exactly what God is calling us to in this passage. Even as God knows us completely and yet forgives and loves us fully, we should also fully forgive each other, empowered by the Holy Spirit to do so.

Romans 15:5-7, 14 / Kam Pugh Kam gives us a three-for-one sermon on ways that the Bible instructs us to live with one another, focusing on the command to live in harmony with each other. As we weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice, we form a beautiful harmony that demonstrates God’s glory more powerfully than any individual Christian can on his or her own.

Galatians 6:1-3 / Demetrius Hicks Demetrius reminds us that because we are family in Christ, we are to defend and protect each other as we would our closest friends and biological families. This protection includes calling each other out of the dangers of unrepentant sin - humbly, carefully, and graciously pursuing our brothers and sisters and inviting them into repentance and reconciliation.

2 Timothy 2:8-13 / Kam Pugh On Easter Sunday, Kam calls us to remember Jesus in our daily lives so that He will remember us before the Father. If we truly believe that Christ has risen from the dead, our entire lives should be based around this and we should strive for a life of remembrance of Jesus.

Matthew 21:1-22 / Kam Pugh Mere days before His betrayal and crucifixion, King Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a humble donkey. He proceeds to cleanse the temple of the men who had defiled it and curses a fig tree that falsely appeared to be bearing fruit - two profound metaphors for the deceitful, corrupted condition of Israel’s religion and their need for a Savior.
