I'll Be Honest

Believer, do you realize that hell is for a bunch of people you know and love who are outside of Christ? After a funeral of an unbeliever are you faithful to give your children an honest and Biblical answer of where that person is at? It is a blessing for a person to have a fear of God, that they might flee from the wrath of God and come to Christ.

An essential event in the Genesis creation account is the fall of man and the bringing in of sin and death to this world. We see the devil deceiving Adam and Eve to eat fruit that God had forbidden. We see the lie that he used and we can also see that he uses this exact same lie today.

The devil deceived Eve by making God look like a cruel taskmaster in her eyes. And even in our day, this is still one of his top devices in ruining souls. Do you believe the same subtle lie that Eve did? Do you believe that God is against you?

Praise be to God that He forgives our sins and that we won't have to go to hell for them. But this doesn't mean that there will not be fierce and severe consequences for our sin. God's forgiveness doesn't in any way nullify His discipline.

Confessing our sin can be humiliating to us, but it is not anywhere near as hurtful as letting our fellowship with God be hindered through our refusal to confess sin. Our desire for fellowship with God must trump any reasoning we try to create to not acknowledge our sin.

A concept that some people have difficulty with is trying to reconcile the sovereignty of God with our prayers. Does God's sovereignty make our prayers unnecessary or irrelevant?

Is the regulative principle Biblical when it comes to worship in the corporate church gathering? Many people dogmatically assert this teaching, but what exactly does this mean? And most important, is it clearly found in the Bible?

When talking with other Christians, a common question that we may ask is what is someone's testimony. How much weight should we give to someone's testimony? What if someone doesn't even have a testimony of how and when the Lord has saved them?

A person can grow up hearing the gospel a million times and yet never believe in it. They have ears and hear the truth and yet they do not truly hear the truth. This is the testimony of the son of a pastor (Michael Morrow) who was converted after his father died.

One of the biggest questions that many people are asking is how to fix the problems in this world? But what many don't realize is that they are not asking a very important question that they should ask first: How did our world become the way that it is? Man wants the cure but does not want to know the real cause. But until we find out the real cause, in vain will we seek to find a real cure.

There is a time when your heart quits trying to get to God and rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ.

All of us, like Adam after he sinned, are trying to hide and get away from God. But for some people, there is a time when God comes to them and speaks to them personally, telling them to come out to their hiding. There is a shame in coming out in being exposed, but it is the only way any of us will ever be saved.

Man has a wicked inclination to find fault with God and to demand that God give him an answer to all his questions. But when God begins to speak to someone, one thing that becomes a reality is that man suddenly realizes that God is not the one that is on trial, he is.

The Bible clearly commands wives to submit to their husbands. But is there a time when wives should disobey? Is it possible to disobey their husbands graciously and respectfully?

Christians have been recreated in the likeness of God, and one of God's attributes that we're actually called to have is anger. But we must remember that it must not be a sinful anger; a sinful anger invites the devil into our lives.

One of the greatest hindrances to sanctification is when we view it as though it is passive. We are not told to be passive in dealing with sin, but rather we are called to actively put it off. We can not make excuses (and even excuses that sound spiritual) and become passive in putting off the old man with its practices.

Being a Christian is not just learning facts about Christ, but rather it is actually learning Christ personally. This is what causes us to live radically different from how we lived formerly. A person can hear about Christ without actually learning Him. Have you learned Christ?

Is it an unreasonable standard to want to marry someone only if they are a virgin? Should their immoral past be more important than their present godliness?

Many "churches" are impressed by big numbers, but Jesus is concerned about the individual. Christ considers one sinner worth dying for and He's willing to save any sinner, no matter how bad, if they will simply come to Him and believe in Him.

Christianity is the exclusive faith that can save us and bring us to heaven. There's only one God and one Savior and the Bible is dogmatically clear on this. No matter what the world and our culture want to accuse us of, we can't compromise on the exclusivity of the Gospel. Preached at the 2019 Fellowship Conference New England. Jesus Christ is the True Vine for us to abide in and bear fruit. Fruit doesn't earn us salvation, but it is the infallible proof that our faith is genuine.

The Bible plainly says that God is sovereign over all things. But if this is so, then how are we to understand the Bible verses that say that God was grieved or sorry that He did something? Genesis 6:6 - And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.

We need to take heed to the warnings of Scripture and not delude ourselves into thinking that we're immune to them. We're living in a generation of so many platforms for people to spew out false doctrine. And many of these false teachers are very likable outwardly, which makes them all the more able to deceive the naive. And immature spiritual children who lack discernment are their easiest prey....

Do members of a church have the responsibility to alert the pastors when they see divisions arising in the church? How important is the communication of the sheep with the shepherds in order to maintain unity in the church?
