David Robotham led us through the second part Ephesians 2 (verses 11-22). He left us to consider: Good works prepared for you in advance to be your way of life? Breaking down the dividing walls of hostility?

Terry Huggett spoke about a ‘City’ and reminded us that God has called us as Hope Community Church to be ‘a City of Refuge’.

David Robotham led us through the first part of Ephesians 2 (verses 1-10) He unpacked who we were and who we are, now in Christ – we are who he says we are!

Team Bower (Isaac & Celeste) led our morning and spoke peace and unity.

Celebrating the birthday of the church with an all age, intercultural, prayerful gathering!

Guest speaker, Tim Lockwood (Gateway Church) unpacked the story of the ‘Prodigal Son’ (Luke 15:11-31), focusing on the older brother. He revealed how all was not quite as it seemed, and what lessons we can learn from this.

Andy Taylor unpacked Ephesians 1:15-23, known as Paul’s first ‘Apostolic Prayer’. We saw Paul’s heart and passion for Jesus as he prayed that they (and us) ‘may know him better.’

David Lambourn opened up the first section of Ephesians 1 with a great preach, looking at the power of ‘identity’, ‘already’ and ‘fulfilment’.

Guest speaker Debbie Howard unpacked Psalm 46, reminding us of who our God is!

Gary Bastin launched our new series: Ephesians. We looked at the city, and why the letter was written. We then considered what God may want to reveal to us as we dive into this book together…

It was a packed, vibrant and fun Easter Sunday all age celebration! Church leader Gary Bastin spoke about the wonder, power and significance of Jesus being raised back to life!

Guest speaker, Gareth Davies (Bible Society) shared encouraging stories and statistics from ‘The Quiet Revival’ and John 4, revealing what God is doing at the moment…

Guest speaker Mark Nash spoke from Luke 16. He told us about how a grapefruit made a big difference in Dunlin in the 1980s!

A fabulous morning as we baptised three young people who have all encountered God!

Youth Pastor, Biggsy, unpacked the ‘Parable of the Sower’ (Mark 4). Sharing stories from his childhood to his current role, he encouraged us to scatter kingdom seed, put our light on a stand for all to see and to be a different flavour to the world in the everyday.

Guest speaker Bob Smith spoke from Romans 12:1-2 unpacking what’s going on and how science agrees with what was written in that letter all those years ago!

Looking at what has been going on in the church over the last few years, sharing some prophetic words and Bible verses, Gary Bastin asked the question, ‘What is God doing?’

Gary Bastin guided us through our all age gathering. We saw that the Bible describes the church as a family and discovered what God’s mission for the church is. We concluded with a sneak peak of the glorious multicultural church, described at the end of the Bible.

Nate Aspray did a brilliant job looking at five important foundations of the first church in Jerusalem (Acts 2:42-47). As we look at our church today, he asked, what do we do well, and where can we improve?

Guest speaker Rebecca Beese took us a creative journey through songs, psalms, prayers and pictures discovering new ways to worship God together…

Terry Huggett started our new series 'Mustard Seeds - Redefining Church' looking at what Jesus said about a mustard seed and how big things can grow for small beginnings.

In a packed room there was a buzz of anticipation at our first gathering of 2026! A few people shared what they felt God was saying, then Gary Bastin spoke about ‘The Unchanging Changer’, and we closed with St. Francis of Assisi’s ‘Prayer for Peace’.

It was a great double act from Diane and Andy Taylor! Quizmaster Diane kicked off with some seasonal limericks then Andy spoke about ‘The Parable of the Beachball’.

‘Carols for Everyone’ was a packed festive gathering with Christmas carols, children dressed as Nativity characters and Bible readings. Olu Akinwale spoke about the wonder and relevance of Jesus, the ‘Light of the World’.

At the Live Nativity Gary Bastin spoke about how light makes a big difference, not only at Christmastime…
