As we conclude this mini-series on the incommunicable attributes of God, we look at the indivisibility of God, meaning God is not a sum of many parts, but is in every way whole and perfect. This means that God's people are to worship Him with an undivided heart.

Family resemblance makes it easy to spot which family someone belongs to; in how we look, walk, talk, or even our quirks. Spiritually, it's the same: our actions reveal whether our father is God, or the devil.

We were made for eternity, yet we are frustrated by our own mortality. Everything around us is affected by time; we grow old, our clothes wear out, our possessions lose value, wine gets better with time. But unlike us God is not constrained by time.

When life gets hard, where do we run for rescue? Isaiah 30-32 shows us that we often run to the wrong things for what only God can provide.

Troubles and worries are unavoidable. So, when troubles come, where do we find our rest? Where do we find our security?

What is your calling? Is it a role, a dream, a career, or relationships? We know that our calling defines us; it gives us purpose and drive. But are we building our calling on the Solid Rock, or on transient things?

One of our pitfalls is that we place our hope in things that change. The joys and delights of this life will grow dim, the glories and the achievements of this world will decay and so if your hope is in these things, you will know despair. We need to find our hope in God because the ever-changing creature can only find rest in the unchanging Creator.

Our final signpost in this series should not instil fear. Rather, Be Ready is a call to live in anticipation of the Lords return. As we wait, these signposts are meant to point both us and others to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The ascension of Jesus is directly tied to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. In His ascension, Jesus did not leave His followers alone; He left them with a promise fulfilled at Pentecost. Through this, Gods presence remains continually with His people.

We are naturally curious about the end times, and so is the rest of the world. You can see this in the many books and blockbuster movies about Judgment Day. Yet Isaiah 24 speaks about this day, so that we are not left wondering without answers.

Something we often do not like to think about is that sin demands payment. Romans 6:23 makes this very clear, but it does not end there. The good news of the gospel is that the payment for sin has been paid in full for Gods people: Jesus paid it all.

Each of us has talents, gifts, and abilities that are vital for ministry. Yet our temptation is either to see these gifts as inadequate or to use them for our own self-interests. First Peter 4 reminds us that God has given these gifts for His glory.
