Nehemiah 2:1-8 - Nehemiah demonstrates how a godly person can be effective in a pagan world. He shows us how to do a job effectively by depending on God and allowing God time to work. He demonstrates the value of planning and patience in waiting for God's time. They are valuable lessons for each of us as we go into this week.

Nehemiah 1:5-12 - We see a man who was not content to simply be aware of a problem. Nehemiah allowed the need of others to impact his heart and life. He takes the problem to God first and asks some big things of God. He asks God to do the impossible through him and God desires to do the same with each of us this week.

Nehemiah 1:1-4 - Nehemiah shows us the value of taking our problems to God first. He has a tender heart for others and focuses on the long term picture. He desires for God to use Him and seeks the best way to be used by God. God desires the same thing for each of us this week.

Acts 9:26-30 - God may want you to be the Barnabas in someone's life. It is vital that we are sensitive to God's plan and not oppose things that God is at work doing in the lives of others. Sometimes in our zeal, we hurt or hinder the work that God wants to do in the lives of those around us. This passage challenges us to be sensitive to God's direction and not our own.

Acts 9:21-25 - Things in your life may not go as you planned. God can use everything to His purposes if you will allow Him. Spiritual growth will take time and it is a process that requires a long term commitment. God requires that we be faithful to that process.

John 4 - Too many people think church and Christianity is about religion. Just like this woman. Christianity is about a person - Jesus Christ. It is about an eternal personal relationship. It changes and affects every aspect of your life. Please make sure you have a relationship with the person of Christ and not just religion.

Acts 9:10-19 - God may ask some difficult things from us. Our job is respond in obedience. Our focus needs to be allowing God to work His plan for our lives and not our plans. He will use us if we allow Him

Acts 9:1-9 - Saul helps us to understand that Christianity is about obedience, people and God's plan. God will do whatever He needs to do to get our attention, but we have to choose to respond properly. God wants to use each of us and will if we follow Him in obedience. Special note - On July 16, we had a time of testimonies, so we did not publish the service.

Acts 8:14-38 - God uses Phillip to take the gospel to the ends of the known world at this time. The Ethiopian shows us that God is accessible to everyone and that God wants to use each of us. Allow him to use you this week. Make sure your faith is a real faith like the Ethiopian, not like Simons.

Acts 8:1-13 - Make sure you examine your faith and know why you believe what you believe. Make sure it is a real and living faith. Realize that difficulty does not mean disapproval from God. Realize everyone plays a part in God's great plan.

Acts 7:55-60 - Stephen reminds us that is important to be controlled by God's spirit every day. Our focus determines our direction and ultimately our outcomes. As a believer we all look forward to the time that we die and leave this world only to awaken in a world with our Savior.

Genesis 6 - We live in a world which is very similar to the world of Noah's day. It is easy to blend in and act like that world. As believer's we must allow God to use us and seek to leave a Godly legacy behind us. We must learn to embrace a right standing in which God is seen in us. We must be blameless so that as people speak against us, their claims prove to be unfounded. We must foll...

Acts 7:1-36 - Stephen reminds us that God has a plan. He was at work starting in the life of Abraham. Although the patriarchs rejected Joseph, God was with him and continued to use him. And God used Moses who was also rejected and God used him when the time was right. Acts 6:15-7:1 - Our lives need to reflect a grace and power that is sourced in Christ. When difficult time or unfair criticism or circumstances come our way, we must focus on our response, not the criticism. Our response should be one which reflects that face and attitude of Christ. A response of power, grace, humility, and fearlessness of the future.

Acts 6:1-7 = The church needs organization, but it is a organism. It is a living growing thing that has to be cared for. God uses people to do that. We all must do our part and serve in the areas that God impresses upon our hearts.

We often forget the important role that woman play in our lives. They are often behind the scenes allowing God to use them in great ways. We have the story of Moses because of woman like Jochebed, Miriam, Pharoah's daughter, and the midwives. We need to realize our influence and place our trust in God for the raising of our child. And we need to learn to let them go.

Acts 5:28-40 = The Christian message is one which should never change. We may change the way we present it, but it must remain faithful and true. We need to put ourselves in places of influence so we can influence the world God has placed us in. When we face persecution, we need to stop complaining and realize what a privilege it is to be associated people who also faced persecution for the cause...

Acts 5:12-27 - God heals through the healing ministry of the disciples to confirm His message. Sometimes he asks difficult things of us and we have to be obedient and trust Him. Nothing takes Him by surprise because He is in control of our lives.

Acts 5:1-11 Be careful that material things are not the focus of your heart. We are responsible for our actions and our heart before God and others. God takes His church very seriously. He abhors hypocrisy and will do whatever He needs to do to protect His church.

John 20:4-7 = The clothes of Jesus tell the Easter story. God who humbles himself as a man and walks among us sinless and perfect. He willingly goes to the cross as our sacrifice and High Priest. He comes out of a tomb Alive forever and offering to everyone forgiveness of sin and a new life with Him.

John 12:19-26 Two men asked Jesus a simple question - They wanted to see Jesus. Jesus explained that in order to see Him, He would have to die. He explained that life comes from death. The core concept of Christianity lies in the fact that we must die to our way and choose Christ.

Acts 4:23-35 The early church did not seek deliverance from persecution. They understood people did not like their message, so they asked for boldness. They were unified in heart, soul, and mind in proclaiming Jesus and Him crucified. We need to be willing to do the same.

Acts 4:1-22 - Peter and John were doing what God had led them to do. In the process they were persecuted for doing right. They stood boldly and used the opportunity to share Christ. They focused on obedience to God and trusted God to use them as they served Him.

Acts 3:12-26 - Peter reminds the people that God has been at work throughout history. They needed to repent and turn to God. It is the only way to come to God. Faith in the person, name and work of Christ is the way to genuine repentance. Forgiveness of sin is offered and granted to all who will come to God on His terms and not their own.

Acts 3:1-10 - Peter and John opened their eyes to the opportunities that God put in front of them. While the beggar did not know His real need, Jesus did. The message of the early church was that God would now be accessible to everyone. No matter what your background, God desires to change your life when you decide to follow Him.
