Acts 2:42-47 - The early church was a force to be reckoned with. They demonstrated to a lost world how a relationship with Jesus changed people They lived out the principles of Christ and the world noticed and many were drawn to want a relationship with Christ as well. That is our calling today.

Acts 2:14-41 God uses Peter to clearly proclaim the good news of Jesus and His story. Repentance is the only acceptable response to the message of Jesus. Forgiveness of sin only comes through a life that wants to change (repent) and follow Jesus. A true disciple is not afraid to let the world know what God has done in their life.

Acts 2:1-13 - God fulfilled His promise and sent a comforter to permanently indwell believers. He has decided to use common people to accomplish His plans and will use anyone who is willing to follow Him. As we share the gospel with others, some will embrace the message and others will mock, that has not changed in 2,000 years.

Acts 1 - Matthias - God picked 12 diverse guys to carry on His message. These people were dedicated and committed to follow Him even unto death. They were ordinary people who committed their lives to Jesus and He used them to take the good news of Jesus Christ to the entire world. His methods have not changed and He will do the same with our lives if we will follow.

John 12,13,18 - Judas Iscariot is a reminder to look at our heart and not just our actions. It is possible to follow Christ without possessing Christ. Judas is also a reminder of the incredible patience of God and a reminder that God can use any situation to bring glory to His name.

John 14:22 - Judas (the gentle souled disciple) reminds us that some followers were more tender hearted and quiet in their nature. They still made a significant impact on the Kingdom of God. They just went about it a different way and reminded all of us that God can use everyone.

Luke 6:15 - Jesus choose Simon the zealot because he focused on his potential not his shortcomings. He does the same with you. He can take the negatives in your life and refocus them in a healthy positive direction of you are willing to follow Him with your whole heart and lay aside your biases. Allow Him to use you this week.

Mark 15:40 - James the "less" is only less because he is not talked about as much as the other disciples. His impact on the kingdom is just as significant. He pointed people to Christ and His Word. Everyone has value to the work of God uses everyone who is willing to be used. Allow God to use you this week.

John 11,14, 20 = Thomas viewed life as a pessimist and it impacted his life experiences. Jesus did not condemn him for his outlook, but did not encourage it either. On the positive side Thomas was devoted and committed to follow Jesus no matter what the cost. We should be willing to do the same.

We spent the day looking back over God's blessings in 2016 1 Thessalonians 5:11 - Anyone can build a building, but a church is built on relationships. Building a church family requires us to commit to one another, be flexible and be willing to adapt and change as growth necessitates. Jesus will build His church, the question is whether we will allow Him to use us as part of His plan.

Luke 2:25-35 - Simeon reminds us of the hope that the birth of Jesus brings to the world. But he also reminds us of the sorrow that comes with His birth. Mary & Joseph would not have a life that would be easy, but it was the path that God had chosen for them. And they would watch as their child would bring light, glory, hope, and salvation to the world.

Luke 2 - God cares about each of us and He humbly came so that we may possess eternal life with Him. We must make a place for God and allow our relationship with Christ to feed our soul and direct our life. This was a short message at the end of our yearly Christmas program. Our normal Sunday series was not recorded due to some technical issues.

Luke 1:67-79 - Zacharias reminds us that God fulfills His promises. It requires patience on our part and trust that God will accomplish His plans in His time. We are now the messengers to the world of Peace and Hope.

Luke 1:42-55 - When Mary's world turned upside down, she does not panic. Instead she worships. She focuses on her relationship to God and the fact that God has chosen to use her. She understands that God is in control and that this event has not taken Him by surprise, but is part of a thing much bigger than her. She praises the fact that God is a faithful God who keeps His promises.

Matthew reminds us that every person has value to God and that Jesus died for the whole world. There is nothing you can do that is beyond the reach of God's love for you. Jesus chooses Matthew to remind us that we all have hope and a future in Christ.

Nathaniel's life reminds us the danger of prejudice. Fortunately, he did not allow his preconceived ideas to hinder God working in his life. We must strive to do the same. We must also realize that we all grow at different rates in our Christian life. So we must be patient with one another and allow God room to work and grow.

Phillip's life teaches us that it is okay to struggle. The Christian life is a process, a journey. It is not a destination. In that journey we have to be careful about missing the big picture and not seeing the opportunities in front of us. As you follow Christ this week realize this is a step by step and day by day journey.

John's life is a life on contrasts. While he is often passionate in his reactions, he is also passionate in his love for Jesus. He reminds us that this world is not our home and that better days are coming. He learns to balance truth with love and is a great example of someone who models the teachings of Jesus.

James teaches the importance of tempering our passion with love. Jesus uses his life to show the importance of humility in service. James is a great example of following Jesus no matter what the cost.

Andrew - He allows God to use him to bring others to Jesus. He focuses on the possibilities instead of the problems and reminds us that every role is important in the kingdom of God and we must all do our part.

Peter - God teaches us that willingness to be used and a desire to submit to God are essential to God using us. We will struggle, but we can also overcome and allow God to turn our weaknesses into strengths. Allow God to use you this week.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-18 - We are must appreciate the opportunity we have to work. It is a gift from God and the ministry to which we are called. We have to do the hard work of discipline in our lives and be people of grace & peace. We have to keep doing right and not grow weary in doing the right thing.

Luke 6 - God entrusted the greatest message in the world to 12 ordinary men. He does the same thing today and wants to use each of us. He uses ordinary people who have a teachable spirit and are committed fully to Him. Let Him use you this week.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 - We are reminded that prayer is an essential need in the life of every believer. In order for God to be glorified in our lives, we must stay faithful and continue to have confidence in the future God has promised to believers. Above all, we must focus on the love that God has demonstrated to each of us.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-17 - Paul reminds believers that God loves them and has not abandoned them. His focus is for them to experience His glory in their lives. Believers need to ground themselves in the teachings of Christ. What we believe should shape the way we live each day.
