Acts 9:1-9 Steve Kiesel Today Steve walks through the conversion of Saul and the change that Jesus brings to a life hostile to God.

Acts 8:26-40 Philip gives us a wonderful example of what it means to live on mission for God. He yields to the Holy Spirit, Explains the Word, and Expects God to move. As we apply these points to our own lives, there are areas of growth and examination to bring advancement to his Kingdom. 

Acts 8:1-25  The gospel begins to spread outside the walls of Jerusalem as persecution begins for the early church. The blessing of grace to come upon people that the Jews hated, was a transformational part of history. And one that shows the nature of the grace.

Acts 6-7 Looking through the recorded life of Stephen, we are able to see how he defends his faith in the face of false claims, how he brings glory to God, and is not afraid to stand up and call others to repentance. With the Word of God as our standard, we need to not fear when accusations come our way, but stand firm of the truth of the word.

Acts 5:12-42 Understanding that if God is in it, it will not fail. Many times we go about our life to our own beat, and we do not seek the Lord and where he wants us to be. Seek the Lord and His ways and your paths will be made straight. 

Acts 4:32-5:11  Contrasting Barnabas to Ananias and Sapphira allows us to see the heart motives of generosity and how people treat the holiness of God. Too often we get comfortable in our sin, doctrines and church life, to truly allow the gospel to change us in the way that only the Spirit of God can. 

Acts 4:1-31 Continuing from last week, we follow Peter and John and their defense for Christ, the authority and name by which this man is healed. The church faces its first oppression, and spend time in prayer for the more to come. 

Acts 3 Looking at the gift of healing and the miraculous nature of the Spirit working in the early church to proclaim Jesus as Christ is a wonderful theme through the book of Acts. Healing and miracles can make us uncomfortable, which is need to challenge our lukewarmness. 

Acts 2:42-47 Looking at the internal practices of the early church can allow us to see the will of God for his body to move in the communities they are in. Devoting themselves to his purposes and vision. 

Acts 2:1-41 The promised gift from Jesus came to the disciples and the gospel was shared to add 3000 to their number. God was glorified! 

Acts 1:12-26 We study the selection of the next Apostle and God's sovereign will continuing to guide the believers as they are dedicated to the word and devoted to prayer. 

Acts 1:1-11 Introducing our new study through the book of Acts. We look at the background and outline of the book as given in 1:8 and the charge that is given to the church to be his witnesses as we await his return.

Luke 24 This Resurrection Sunday we focus in on how Jesus has perfectly redeemed us, and how the gospel message is simple and clear. We need to remember who he is and what he has done for us. 

Ruth 4 A Kinsman Redeemer must have the right to redeem, the ability to redeem, and the willingness to redeem. Boaz has all of these qualities as he reflects a beautiful portrait of Christ.

Ruth 3 Looking at the plan of Naomi for them to find rest shows the importance of what a kinsman redeemer brings about, rest. For Ruth and Naomi, this rest would be reflected in marriage. For us as believers rest is found in the redemption of Christ

Ruth 2 As we looked at the resolve and determination of Ruth to love Naomi, her land, people and God; we see the response of what that determination entails. The responses of Boaz, her, and Noami. The love of God demands a response. Will we respond in faith or fear?

Ruth 1 As we begin our look at Ruth and the redemption phase, we also understand the struggles that relationships come from in order to find redemption. Many times we can look to so many places for redemption, but the one true place is found in the Lord.

Today as we finish Hosea, we look at the final call to repentance from the prophet and God's promise to restore his people.

Hosea 12-13 Unfaithfulness Today we talk about the third accusation against the people of Israel, their unfaithfulness to the Lord. The people were deceptive and dishonest which would lead to destruction as a judgment against them for breaking the covenant. God repeatedly calls on the people to return to him, and when that message is not heard, judgement comes.

Hosea 10-11 The prosperity of Israel was mistaken for their own deeds and power. Rather than seeing the luxury of being God's chosen people, those chased after and loved idols and other things. The judgement coming was a discipline to allow them to know God. We need to be mindful of our own wandering and ungrateful hearts for the prosperity that God has given us in salvation.

Hosea 8-9  The section of no love for God continues as Hosea describes areas of rebellion and sin where they are loving other things over God. His warning comes to a people who think they know God, but God is driving them away in exile for betraying the covenant. 

Hosea 6 and 7 We move into the second focus of the accusations against the people of God, they had no love for him. Continually calling us back to the first issue of no knowledge of God, it is hard to have love for Him or others when we don't know Him. Israel looked to other things to love and obsess over, we need to be aware of this pattern in our own life as well. 

Hosea 5:1-6:3 Look at the accusations for all the people in terms of the lack of knowledge for God, God calls on them to repent and seek him. They will face exile and judgement for their unfaithfulness and turning to other things in life. What are the things that we turn to for healing and cure instead of the Lord.
