Growing and Witnessing

Jesus wrote seven letters to seven churches in the book of Revelation. In the first chapter he reveals himself to be the glorious king of all creation. Can you imagine what it was like to receive such a letter?

Our Wednesday Bible Study this week is on Luke 11:1-13 where Jesus taught his disciples to pray. He taught them two important truths: 1. That prayer is following Jesus. 2. That prayer recognizes God as a Heavenly Father. Join us as we work through these wonderful truths.

The whole Bible is about Jesus. He's on every page, either explicitly or implicitly. The book of Jonah is a prime example of this reality. Jesus is better than Jonah. Where Jonah failed completely, Jesus obeyed perfectly.

The God of the Bible is a God of grace. He gives it to those he loves beyond measure. The question we must ask is: What will we do with it? Jonah's story brings us to that point as does the older brother's in the prodigal son parable.

God entered into a special covenant with Adam and Eve after he created them. There was one stipulation to that covenant -- do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We discuss what it meant for them to break it.

The parable of the vineyard workers is a wonderful story that illustrates the greatness of God's grace, his willingness to apply equally to all who follow him in faith, and his pursuit of people lost in sin. It challenges us to serve Christ with all we have as we rely upon his grace for everything.

God loves you. God loves me. God loves everyone that he has created. He pursues them and calls them to faith and repentance. Have you responded?

For what are we thankful in 2020? God has been good and gracious to us all. He makes the sun to shine on the righteous and unrighteous alike. He gives mercy and grace to all. He saves those who call upon him. Therefore, we always have something for which to be thankful to our God.
