In this sermon Tony takes us to see how God was saving many people in Antioch which spurred the apostles to send Barnabas to Antioch. Barnabas was the right choice and what a man he was. Tony paints a picture of this man and you will not be able to resist the desire to have a Barnabas in your life, but can you be one?

In this sermon Tony wraps up the story of Peter and Cornelius. It is such a powerful story to watch God open the doors of salvation to the nations and to also watch Him change Peter's heart toward the Gentiles. 

We begin to look at this monumental story about Peter and Cornelius. Tony wants us to see it as a play, a play divided into 5 scenes. In this sermon we only get through the first two scenes, but see God preparing both Cornelius and Peter for something huge He is about to do. 

Here are two stories of Peter doing miracles that Luke positions together. But there is much more here than a paralyzed man being healed and a woman being raised from the dead. In these stories we actually find what it means to live the Christian life.

Luke likes to pause throughout the book of Acts to give these summary statements about the church, to share the condition of the church at that time. Tony sees five marks of a healthy church in this verse and wants us to see them - see them not just for the church corporate but for our own individual spiritual walks with Jesus.

God had transformed Saul, but most of HIs people didn't believe it. At the start of Saul's new life in Christ, he faced doubters and had a hit put out on his life. Yet one man, Barnabas, stood by him. 

Saul's conversion story has many dramatic details that are unique to his story. But when we look behind his story we find very normative, important things that are common for all who are converted to Christ. 

In this sermon Tony takes us deeper into the story of the conversion of Saul of Tarsus. There are amazing realities about ourselves and Jesus that we can learn in this story.

There are two final parts to this section in Acts 8 that Tony wants us to think about - both answer the most important question that anyone can ask, how can man be right with God?

This is Tony's Easter 2026 message. In it he wants us to realize that whenever we ignore something that is real and true, that doesn't make it unreal and false. Tony tells the resurrection story to show that Jesus is alive and we must respond to this reality. 

Today Tony leads the church in celebrating all that God has done through GROW, GCBC's 2 year financial campaign that culminates on this day. It is also Palm Sunday. Listen to see how bringing all this together, Tony see's it all about joy, misplaced joy, and ultimate joy.

Philip proclaims Christ to people who were historically hated by Jews. And as he does there are two responses - many come to saving faith in Christ and are baptized. While one man, appeared to have saving faith and was baptized but in the end we find out, it was nothing more than counterfeit faith.

Where you are, you are called." That is a line that Tony loves and it shows itself true with the early church. Because when they were persecuted and scattered, where they landed they immediately started sharing the gospel.

The stoning death of Stephen did more than remove a great saint from the world, it immediately ushered in the first great, violent wave of persecution against this young church. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, lectures the sanhedrin for 52 verses about Israel's history. But what he was really communicating is what all of history bears out - God initiates toward His people, they listen, resist, disobey, and God remains faithful in mercy and grace. 

In this sermon Tony takes us to the texts that reveal the man Stephen. Luke thought it important to make sure we knew what kind of man he was, how he lived his life, his character. And what Tony thinks is, Luke wanted us to know this to explain what he said to the Jewish leaders before they stoned him and to explain how he could die the way he did.

The apostles said that they must remain devoted to "prayer and the ministry of the Word." Why did they feel this way and remain so doggedly committed to it? Should all Christian's feel this way and be utterly devoted to prayer and the Word of God? In this sermon Tony makes the point that whatever you are devoted to, is shaping who you are, forming you. 

The Church is Bride of Christ, the Body of Christ, the building built by Christ. We are the people of God living out the mission of God for the glory of God. What does that mean for you? Are you living like you're part of His body?

In a broken and chaotic world, Psalm 37 invites us not to harden our hearts in fear or outrage, but to delight ourselves in the Lord. Why? And what does it mean to enjoy God?

As Tony preaches through a book of the bible, like he is now doing in Acts, he likes to pause over topics and subjects that come up in the text. Today, it is the topic of Complaining. It doesn't feel like often you hear a sermon on complaining but it happens to be a sin that God showed us, through Israel's history, that he particularly hates.
