Today we look at a problem that rose in the new church in Acts. It appears to include discrimination, favoritism, and hurt feelings. But what Tony really wants us to see in this text, today, is that word “disciple.” This is what is increasing in this new church, disciples. Not converts. Not Christians. Not believers. Disciples. 

Too often, we make choices in life based on fear. Listen to what God has to say instead. The situation is still scary, but when we know He is with us we don't have to be afraid.

By faith in Christ we are the children of God. But a lot of the time we don't live from that identity. What is the key to living as a child of God? 

As we head into the new year, Jonathan wants to remind the church of who we are. There is nothing more important than to realize who we are and to live from that identity. 

In this final Advent 2025 sermon, we look at a statement made by people who watched Jesus both heal a paralytic and forgive his sin. They said “well we’ve never seen this before.” And that was true because there has never been nor will there every be a man, who is God, walk this earth who has authority to forgive sin. His name is Jesus, because He came to save His people from their sin.

Jesus earned His reputation - a friend of tax collectors and sinners. This was what was behind the incarnation, He came to seek and save the lost. Wonder what your reputation is?

Tony begins his advent series in this sermon. He is looking at what various people said about Jesus, in the gospels. Today sermon looks at what The Father said about Jesus and what the demons said about Jesus. Strangely similar but from completely different perspectives.

God gave us Himself. What does this gift mean to us? He is a wonderful counselor, mighty God, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father. His glory is on display and it is for our good this Christmas!

Your future hinges on something surprisingly simple - whether you give thanks to God. In this sermon we look at the formative power of thanksgiving. 

Tony tell us that in this passage of scripture, it pulsates with the mission - evangelism and sharing the gospel with the lost. Warning before you listen - you will know for sure after the conclusion if you are in for the mission or not, obeying Jesus or not.

This is a very unique Sunday for Grace Community Bible Church, an exciting one. The leadership of the church is showing the church, for the first time, what the new building is going to look like. In the sermon, Tony shares a parallel between the Philippians “partnership” with Paul in the gospel ministry to the church partnering with each other in this big gospel endeavor.

Tony takes us on a deep dive into the story of Ananias & Sapphira. What we really need to see is what we normally do not see, the unseen/supernatural world. What is actually going on is between Satan and God.

In this sermon we look at the second summary statement, thus far in Acts, about this newborn church. They prove to be remarkably unified and sacrificial for these early days of the new community. However, as with all churches, not without sin. Luke includes an episode where Ananias and Sapphire lie to Peter about how much they are giving and they lose their lives because of it. 

In this passage we get to see what the apostles were really made of. We all find that out when the pressure is on, when we are in the midst of the “hard.” It is so telling and encouraging that they prayed and trusted in God’s sovereignty. Unlike us, they didn’t ask for safety and comfort and they didn’t complain because their rights were being violated - they simply wanted God to make them more bo...

When authorities get upset because of one man's healing, Peter and John share the most important Truth with the people. Jesus is the only name by which we can be saved. These disciples share this with the leaders of their day and God intends it for the people of our day too.

In Acts 3, Peter shows that repentance is not a burden but a blessing — the gift of God that blots out our sins, refreshes our souls, and points us to the day when Christ returns to restore all things. Repentance is not just turning from sin, but turning toward the life-giving joy of Jesus who makes all things new.

In this sermon Tony takes the statement that Peter speaks when he heals the lame man, “in the name of Jesus Christ” and shows us the depth of meaning in that phrase. It is so much more than just a way to end your prayers, it should be the theme of the Christian’s life.

In this sermon we return to Acts 3 where Peter heals a man born lame. But there is something else the Peter did, he saw an open door to preach and he did it. He shared the gospel because the opportunity was there. This is what we all should do - want to share the gospel, be ready, and walk thru the open door!

The disciples of John the Baptist asked Jesus a question that is still valid today in 2025, “why don’t your disciples fast?” In this sermon, Jonathan seeks to show the heart of fasting through this question. 

As we return to Tony’s series in Acts, this sermon looks at the healing of a lame man at the Beautiful Gate in the Temple. He asked for money, but Peter gave the only thing he had to give him, healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

In this final sermon in Tony’s series, The Toxic Soul, he takes us to Psalm 1 to answer the questions, what does a healthy soul look like? How can it be achieved and maintained? 

In this sermon Tony helps us see shame as both a gift from God that He uses to lead His people to grace and forgiveness and also how shame can end up being so toxic to our soul. The toxin of shame condemns and seeks to bury the soul in despair - but the Bible has answers and the child of God can find freedom!

Tony continues in his series The Toxic Soul and in this sermon he leads us to think about sin and how poisonous it is to the soul. It would seem we forget just how lethal sin is and in this sermon we are reminded that when we sin we forsake God, try to make life work on our own, are deceived, and harden our heart. No one gets away with sinning. 

This is the second sermon on suffering in Tony’s series “The Toxic Soul.” Today Tony shows us how God is sovereign in and over our suffering and the good He is working out in us through it.
