It's easy to focus on the messy parts of life, forgetting what else we receive from those very things. In this proverb, Solomon approached a very needed truth from a very unique perspective. Listen and see if you have some oxen you should be thankful for.

No matter the dream, no matter the ambition, there will be critics who tell you that "it" cannot be done. Tonight's message shows us how we can respond to our critics when we KNOW that our dream was given by God.

Have you ever thought about what you will be leaving to the next generation. Oddly enough, the most important thing you can leave is not money or possessions; but rather, it is something you cannot place a monetary value on. See what was of concern for David and see if it is your concern, as well.

There was a time in Hezekiah's life where God stepped back and allowed some things to happen. This revealed who Hezekiah was in that moment. Today, God still steps back for us and those moments reveal who we are. It's something to give serious attention to.

We have one shot at each opportunity God makes available to us. It is because of this truth that it is of utmost importance that we make the best of those moments. Today's message reminds us of how important it is that we have wisdom for today.

Of all the choices we are privileged to make in this life, our attitude is one of them. Tonight's message reminds us that we choose to be positive, neutral, or negative; and the impact it has on our testimony.

As Hezekiah faced death, he was also very near restoration. This moment in his life had to have produced a mix bag of emotions. The same still occurs in lives today. It may need to happen in yours. It's something that deserves consideration.

Like it or not, the fact remains that we will all, one day, stand before God. Of all the things God is, He will be the final judge in relation to how we have lived this life. It only makes sense that we would then care about those things He cares about.

In life, everything takes time. As such, even the will of God being accomplished in the life of a person takes time. As that is so, consider this aspect of Nehemiah's life and let it encourage you.

When we understand that battles are a part of the Christian life, it helps us respond appropriately to those battles. Tonight's message shows us the example of Hezekiah in the midst of one of his battles and there is much to be learned by it.

What a blessing to know that God is a God of peace. While that is so, there are some things that must be present in a person's life before they can know His peace. That in mind, consider what Paul shared with the believers of Corinth.

When desiring restoration with the Lord, some things are essential to the process. The example of Nehemiah shows some of what is required when we desire to be made right with God.

Sometimes, the hardest questions are personal questions. After looking at the example of Hezekiah, we have to ask ourselves "How bad do we want it?". It's a question we all need to answer as honestly as possible.

When we consider who God is, we sometimes fail to remember that he is the greatest friend a person can have. It's not a question of whether or not he will prove himself to be that friend; he has already done so. The question then, to us, is: "What kind of friend are we to him?". A wonderful truth contained in this morning's message, as well as a solid challenge.

We sometimes fail to realize that what we do today matters; not just for today, but for years to come. As we begin this study of Nehemiah, what we see is, countless individuals were dealing with the consequences of choices made by those before them. This can be positive or negative, so it is of utmost importance that we get it right.

Sometimes discouragement causes us to stop when we need to carry on. Hezekiah is an excellent example of continuing when it would be easy to quit.

To say "God Is Enough" is simple at different times in our lives; however, there are times it is more difficult to believe what we profess. This morning's message not only deals with the struggle of truly believing this, at times, It also reminds us what must happen when we deal with the struggle.

The simplest of things can reveal much about who we are as individuals. What brings us joy and gladness says much about us. Consider the passage and compare it to your life.

Hezekiah had an opportunity and he was going to take full advantage of it. While our opportunity will be limited in comparison to Hezekiah's, we all have opportunities of the same nature that we should seize. It's something we should be concerned about.

While his father closed the doors to the house of the Lord, Hezekiah chose to reopen them as he ascended to the throne in Judah. There are great correlations to be made in what Hezekiah did and what we should do as it relates to the house of the Lord.

When Hezekiah wanted to see God work, he did more than talk about it; he did what he could to make it happen. There's a great principle in this people today.

What a wonderful truth to consider, that God is omniscient. When we think about this from a personal perspective, great encouragement can be found.

When Israel stood by the banks of the Red Sea, they quickly forgot what God had done for them in the recent past. This caused problems for the entire nation. Such is true when you and I forget all God has done for us. Consider the consequences of a short memory and give attention to what can help us in the future.

When everyone else seems to be going a different direction, it can be difficult to realize that different roads are available. Tonight's message reminds us that we are not forced to live as others choose to live. We can choose to live differently if that is our hearts desire.
