In life, there are times we must learn there are things that cannot be done. This morning's message reminds us of the words of Christ and something no one is capable of doing. Many try, but no one succeeds. We all need to give consideration to this important passage.

When confronted with the truth of God's word, it is very important that we realize how critical our response is. Our response will have far reaching impact not only on ourselves, but many around us. Consider this simple message from Nehemiah and consider what your response to God's word typically looks like.

While the Christian life demands you and I to fight spiritual battles, great encouragement can be found in realizing that God also fights on our behalf. Tonight's message reminds us when God will fight for us and the significance of his efforts.

There's a reason why we are where we're at. The question is, "Why?". Paul explains what one of the reasons may be.

Have you ever seen someone and determined almost immediately that you did not want to be like them. In Jeremiah, we see a group of people that we do not want to be like. Listen and consider what is said because we may already be more like them than we care to admit.

Some things in life are worth fighting for. Please consider what Nehemiah identified as worthy of a fight and ask if you have been willing to fight for these things as you ought.

It's easy to forget that there are multiple reasons why we go through hard times; especially the good reasons. Tonight's message reminds us of one of the benefits of going through hard times.

What is the value of the resurrection? Paul answers that question in I Corinthians 15. Listen and be encouraged by what it still means to believers today.

If you were honest, would you ever have to admit that your prayers make no sense? There's something helpful to be learned from the example of Nehemiah in relation to our prayer lives. We hope this helps those who may have a confusing prayer life.

Somethings just are not any of our business, but that does not keep us from taking offense to what has happened. It's in those moments that we need to get over it and let it go. There's a lesson to be learned from the continued failure of Sanballat and Tobiah. Listen and see if you can identify with their failure.

Bro. Chad Stout preached a very challenging message in the absence of our pastor. All of should give consideration to our discipline versus our desire because the two are not equal. We trust this will be a help to all who listen.

Since it is impossible for us to be in two places at one time, it is important that the sent be sent. Consider what Paul had to say in Romans 10 about need for some to be sent and what we can do to aid those who are sent.

When we think of the rebuilding of the wall, most tend to think that all went well; that all were happy to be involved in the project. Oddly enough, that does not seem to be the case. Listen and consider the unexpected thoughts from this passage of Nehemiah 3.

It's so easy to see the betrayal of Christ, by Judas; yet, it's so difficult to see our betrayal. Consider what Judas was guilty of and see how often we resemble his actions. It's, often, not a pretty sight to behold.

In Luke 16, we read of a rich man who had a burden. When we consider the context of his burden, it makes perfect sense. Consider this morning's message and see if we should share in his burden. If we'll not share his burden, who will?

Imagine being a lady in a man's environment...in a man's world. It could be intimidating. While that is so, in Nehemiah we read of some ladies who (likely) had to overcome some insecurities to do the work of the Lord. Insecurities still have to be overcome if we are to do the work of the Lord. Listen and be encouraged.

If my actions are the reflection of my heart, then I have to acknowledge who has authority over my heart. Solomon gives a clear answer to such a question. Consider what Solomon had to say.

It's amazing to consider the structure and order of God in relation to the creation of this world and man. That in mind, if our goal is to become like God, then it should be our desire to be men and women of structure and order. Without it, there is only one outcome possible. Consider this very practical, yet important element of the nature of God.

No matter the task, there is a need to do it right. We are reminded when we consider the attention given to detail as it related to the dung gate of Jerusalem. Listen and see how this simple principle might apply in your own personal life.

Have we thought much about what we are leaving the next generation. It's something that deserves thought on the part of each of us. Together, let's determine to leave the next generation, something that truly matters more than anything this world has to offer.

Knowing we are called to be light in the midst of a dark world, one of the things that greatly effects our testimony is our attitude. Consider what Paul told the believers of Philippi in relation to this matter. It's a challenge that many of us tend to lose sight of.

While the high priest, his brethren, and many others engaged in the work of the rebuilding of the walls and gates of Jerusalem, the nobles of Tekoa would not. It's not that they would not enjoy the benefits of the walls and gates; they simply would not do the work. Today, nobles from Tekoa still exist in our churches. They benefit from the work of others, but will not do the work themselves....
