Chris Abner, one of our elders, preached from Genesis 29:1 - 31:55. Despite of men’s deception in pursuing power and wealth, God will still work amongst the broken pieces. He is faithful to His plan, and His people. Therefore, live in faith, and not in fear. Learn to trust God to work out His plan in His way for His glory.

Nick Gonyea, one of our covenant partners, preached from Genesis 28: 10-22. A reminder to us that we can rest assured in God’s covenant promises just as Jacob could. When we have a hard time trusting, look at the cross. Look at how serious Jesus is at keeping his promises, that he gave his life so it would happen.

Chris Abner preached on Grace Alone based on Ephesians 2: 1-10. Grace alone is always tied to Christ alone. The grace that saves us is the same grace that grows us. It pursues us, stays with us, leads us to repentance. How are we cultivating a church that lives in the grace of God? Seek to serve rather than be served. Grace transforms us to be more kind, more patient, more loving, more like Him.

Massimo, our elder, preached on “Sola Fide” - as part of our series on the 5 Solas, “Here We Stand”. We were reminded that saving faith is faith that not only knows and comprehends that facts about the gospel of Jesus Christ but also trusts in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone for salvation (from Gospel Coalition).

Chris Abner, one of our elders, preached on Sola Scriptura. The main scripture passage was 2 Timothy 3:16-17. We learnt about what is scripture, the role of scripture and the sufficiency of scripture, and were reminded to live fully based on the word of God.

Chris Abner, one of the elders, preached from 1 Peter 5:1-5. Hope and humility - because we have a hope that is established and accomplished, we can walk in humility. We thank God for the service of the church elders in GCC who are good role models of humility to us.

Chad Cavanaugh, one of our covenant partners, preached from 1 Peter 4: 12 -19, reminding us that because we have a faithful Creator, we can rejoice in suffering. “The wrath of God will cost someone their life. It will either cost an eternal life of an unreached person or it will cost us our earthly life to bring the gospel to them. Which will it be?" (Thabiti Anyabwile)

Yi Khen, our covenant partner, preached from 1 Peter 3:13 - 4:11, on the hope we have in the now. Living in the already but not yet, believers can still have hope even in the midst of suffering, because Jesus is our hope. Without Christ, death is the end of the story. But now, because of Christ, we have hope because our salvation is unbreachable.

Manhon, our elder, preached from 1 Peter 3:1-12. There is true blessing when we trust God. True blessing for husband and wife is realised in their oneness in dependence on the Saviour. The hope in true blessing comes from obedience to God. God’s greatest blessing always rests in God himself. When we have that, we are truly blessed.

Chris Abner, one of our elders, preached from 1 Peter 2:11-25. We were reminded from His Word to lead honorable and submissive lives, even when we have to face unjust suffering. Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, we can learn to fight sin and live in a way that is pleasing to God. His suffering heals our sinful souls, and liberate us to live submissive lives.

Andy Dawson, one of our covenant partner preached through 1 Peter 1:22 - 2:10. It was a really good reminder of what a real community looks like, how we grow in this community, what is our foundation and mission. We are thankful for the community we have in GCC that constantly point each other to Jesus, knowing that he is the author and perfecter of our faith.

Nick Gonyea, one of our covenant partner preached from 1 Peter 1:13-21 reminding us to live holy lives because God is holy. God has equipped us with all means to grow in holiness and obedience.

We started on the series of 1 Peter, ‘Hope in the Valley’. Today, elder Massimo preached from 1 Peter 1:1-12, showing us in scripture that we have a hope that is robust, non circumstantial and is by divine appointment.
